  Re: Aves

(...) Aves must be Mandalorian, or something...;-) -Chris (24 years ago, 17-Jun-00, to lugnet.build.minifigs, lugnet.space)

  Re: Aves

(...) Wow! The Payback is awesome! I love the way the side turrets rise up and rotate into attack position. The detail work on Aves is great. I like the little symbol on his right arm, looks a little like Boba Fett's symbol. Great work! Wilson (24 years ago, 17-Jun-00, to lugnet.build.minifigs, lugnet.space)

  Re: Aves

I used Brasso to take off the UFO junk. I don't consider it ruining the piece, I consider it saving the piece from TLG's ruining it by making it useable only within the UFO Theme. I really hate theme-specific printing on stuff, with the possible (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jun-00, to lugnet.build.minifigs, lugnet.space)

  Re: Aves

(...) I am very impressed! How did you get the UFO printing off the saucer hull sections? I have quite a few of those I may wish to "ruin". Best wishes, Aaron (24 years ago, 16-Jun-00, to lugnet.build.minifigs, lugnet.space)

  Aves

For cryin' out loud... last week I posted the pics of Aves and the Payback, and I just realized I forgot to add the HTML for the pics of Aves. That's what I get for staying up until 1AM on a weeknight. :^P Anyway, here they are... Aves, my custom (...) (24 years ago, 15-Jun-00, to lugnet.build.minifigs, lugnet.space)

  Re: legos biggest mistake is...

(...) This is hardly a mistake, and even if it is, there's no way it could be considered TLC's biggest mistake. (...) Like Matthew said, they're cute. That's not a flip answer, it's the reason -- the infant-like dimensions of minifigs appeal to (...) (24 years ago, 14-Jun-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build.minifigs)

  Re: legos biggest mistake is...

(...) Was it? I seem to recall owning a few classic space sets before my sister got her Kitchen homemaker set. What was the release chronology? Some time ago there was a discussion of "first minifigs," but I can't locate it at the moment. Dave! (24 years ago, 14-Jun-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build.minifigs)

  Re: legos biggest mistake is...

(...) Uh, well, yeah. :D eric (24 years ago, 14-Jun-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build.minifigs)

  Re: legos biggest mistake is...

(...) Plus, they're cute. (24 years ago, 14-Jun-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build.minifigs)

  Re: legos biggest mistake is...

(...) The minifig as we know it was originally a baby in another scale. My guess is it was adopted as-is to make large scale building easier (ie, reduce the overall scale) without designing/sculpting/tooling up machines for new figs. eric (24 years ago, 14-Jun-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build.minifigs)

  Re: legos biggest mistake is...

(...) Hey I love the little people. As Matthew said their cute. If you want my guess as to why I think you need go no further than standard LEGO measurements. Both the legs and the base of the torso are 1x2 studs which allows 1. you to attach then (...) (24 years ago, 14-Jun-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build.minifigs)

  RE: legos biggest mistake is...

(...) Who knows...The website is done in the US [and therefore biased towards the american market wittingly or unwittingly], and even then the US pages aren't always acurate. The major problem I see with the pages [eg 'australasia'/asia pacific, (...) (24 years ago, 14-Jun-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build.minifigs)

  Re: legos biggest mistake is...

(...) Odd. Very odd. Why was TLG-Aus advertising them on there website in February of '99 then? I didn't see them on TLG's main site until months later. Even then, it took them quite awhile to be released here. (24 years ago, 14-Jun-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build.minifigs)

  RE: legos biggest mistake is...

(...) And here I was thinking rock raiders were released last year everywhere...The only set that I thought wasn't was the mini-fig pack [4930?] which I'm not sure if it was released in the US [but the US is restricted to sets produced in the US (...)   RE: legos biggest mistake is...

I think you mean second biggest mistake...Juniorization is their biggest mistake...[Although in Australia, their biggest mistakes are: small range, high cost, extremely delayed releases (20 plus years in Australia, and they still can't work out when (...)   Re: legos biggest mistake is...

(...) It's not a problem; it's a challenge. (...) It's cute! (24 years ago, 14-Jun-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build.minifigs)

  legos biggest mistake is...

selectivly compressing the minifig. The minifig is too wide for its height and that makes it impossible to truly build to minifig scale. Does anyone know the reason for the selective compression? (24 years ago, 14-Jun-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build.minifigs)

  Re: Mark's Lego Creations Update

(...) Thanks! I'm really happy with it also, and I think it will be one of those models that I keep around for a while. ~Mark (24 years ago, 10-Jun-00, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.minifigs)
