  Re: Armor!

~NiCe! Well then, I’ll have to try that metallic wax-based stuff soon!!! Wax-based hun?!? It’ll be interesting to see how it adheres to the ABS, and if it smudges? Here’s my attempt at some realism in armor…with some paint-fading technique. (Please (...) (20 years ago, 26-Oct-04, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build.minifigs, FTX)

(...) Despite the fact that I vowed that Barbie Blue (a derisive term that I have single-mindedly championed) armor would not last in my house, it in fact, has. (...) Purple and green work pretty well too, if you have matching capes. Light blue needs a re-paints though. :-) -Elroy (20 years ago, 25-Oct-04, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build.minifigs)

  Re: Armor!

(...) !My sentiments exactly...it's crazy how a simple dry-brushing of metallic silver over a black undercoat can create such dramatic realism... I pray...seriously pray that Bruce shows more of this type of conversion... Especially with the (...) (20 years ago, 25-Oct-04, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build.minifigs)

(...) !WoW, Elroy, that really works well!!! But then, i guess that the black and red pieces are the only really ones with potential...all the others are just screaming re-paint! ~Thanks for showing, --==Richard==-- (20 years ago, 25-Oct-04, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build.minifigs)

(...) Hi, Thanks for posting this up. Great taste! And a thanks to JoJo for going to all that hard work to show just how usable those knights can be if you really put some effort in : ) I still think I'll use them for space : ) God Bless, Nathan (20 years ago, 24-Oct-04, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build.minifigs)

  Armor!

Hey guys, I don't believe too many people have seen this: (URL) Thanks Jojo, this is a good illustration of what is wrong with the new mulit-color castle body armor!   Re: Does Cap'n Ahab have a vertical, orange stripe?

(...) Maybe other minifigs have been using his head as an orange juicer. It's enough to turn anyone to a life of crime. (20 years ago, 14-Oct-04, to lugnet.build.minifigs)

Re: Does Cap'n Ahab have a vertical, orange stripe?

(...) I bought two of these sets and my Capt figs also have the orange stripe. When I first saw it, immediately I thought, hmmmmmm must be a misprint.   Re: Does Cap'n Ahab have a vertical, orange stripe?

Hello! (...) It's Captain Ahab after all. He is meant to have a scarface. I suppose the orange stripe is there on purpose. Bye Jojo (20 years ago, 13-Oct-04, to lugnet.build.minifigs)

Does Cap'n Ahab have a vertical, orange stripe?

Out of this set <set:7045 "Hovercraft Hideout">, this minifig head ("(URL) had a vertical, orange stripe running down its left (i.e., "dexter") side. Superman! (2 URLs) Christopher Reeve played a hero on screen but was even more heroic in his life. Here's my little tribute. I can't take any credit for the fig design, BTW.
