  Movie Minifig Customs

Hi all, Anyone interested in customizing, or in action movies as rendered in Lego should check out this link: (URL) Weaver has made some incredible minifig customs of T2, RoboCop, the Rocketeer and others! Well worth it. stuart (22 years ago, 26-Nov-02, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.build.minifigs, lugnet.fun)

Re: Perfect shaped young Lego®-Lady needed?

(...) ;-)) (...) hehehe... It is made up very simple: the body is a 1x1x1 with technic hole. On top of that there is the head. Below there is a part 4081: (URL) to that there are the 1x2x0.33 tiles as legs. The arms are standard arms from minifigs. (...) (22 years ago, 24-Nov-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build.minifigs)

Re: Perfect shaped young Lego®-Lady needed?

(...) Hi Mattias! Thanks for your nice words on my beetle design. I made up the ML-CAD model as my very first one ever and so it comes totally without support in the inside: you cannot build it at at all. So all tricks are only used in the real (...)   Re: Perfect shaped young Lego®-Lady needed?

(...) I like your new VW-Beetle a lot, especially the cab version. Moving the front window forward has definitively improved the appearance. When sitting here trying to make my own copy, I realise your model is a of rather complex design. There must (...) (22 years ago, 23-Nov-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build.minifigs)

Re: Perfect shaped young Lego®-Lady needed?

(...) Waist Watchers. It's also quite interesting to see a minifig who actually looks like they are in a believable sitting position with their butt on a bench and their feet on the ground. Could you explain a little more about the parts you used (...) (22 years ago, 23-Nov-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build.minifigs)

Re: 2nd set of NBA minifigs, plus real life comparisons

The real question lies not in skin tone, but as to how they will represent some of the more colorful characters in the NBA. Even with Rodman gone, we still have characters like Allan Iverson (famous for throwing his wife naked out of the house) and (...) (22 years ago, 8-Nov-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build.minifigs)

Re: 2nd set of NBA minifigs, plus real life comparisons

(...) That's my assumption. The hands are kind of curved, probably to fit the round ball. (...) If you look at the card it says "Traded to Bucks". I don't follow the NBA, but I assume the uniform in the photo on the card is his old team from last (...) (22 years ago, 7-Nov-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build.minifigs)

Re: 2nd set of NBA minifigs, plus real life comparisons

(...) They look like they are spring-loaded - is that true? --Bill. (22 years ago, 7-Nov-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build.minifigs)

Re: 2nd set of NBA minifigs, plus real life comparisons

(...) I've played with the legs (someone had them in their posession at LEGOWORLD), but I can't remember if they were or not. Not like it matters though, the legs are made for the basketball game, not for use as regular poseable figs. -Tim (22 years ago, 7-Nov-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build.minifigs)

Re: 2nd set of NBA minifigs, plus real life comparisons

(...) You know, they do look one piece. In fact, they kind of remind me more of Mega Block people then Lego people. Not to mention the heads look oversized. Hasta La Vista, Sean (22 years ago, 7-Nov-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build.minifigs)

Re: 2nd set of NBA minifigs, plus real life comparisons

(...) And I'm sure I've said this before, but I don't buy this slippery slope. Yellow has been used to represent generic non-white peoples in the past. It's just my opinion that it is incapable of representing black people. (Someone once used the (...) (22 years ago, 7-Nov-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build.minifigs)

Re: 2nd set of NBA minifigs, plus real life comparisons

(...) This suggestion has been floated before, I believe, and in my view it makes a fair bit of sense! There then could be lugnet.sports.soccer and lugnet.sports.basketball (or sports.nba?? I'm not sure) and sports.hockey etc... In parallel I know (...) (22 years ago, 6-Nov-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build.minifigs, lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.admin.suggestions)

Re: 2nd set of NBA minifigs, plus real life comparisons

(...) Good explanation, Anthony. I see it, but its so frustrating. I hate all the hoops the politically correct make us jump through. Makes some things that should be simple a real pain in the you know where. -Tim (22 years ago, 6-Nov-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build.minifigs)

Re: 2nd set of NBA minifigs, plus real life comparisons

(...) It was said before in another thread, but I believe it is a good point to make so I'll say it. If LEGO had introduced 'Minifigs of color' along side yellow minifigs, instead of the new caucasian lego color, then LEGO would be proclaiming that (...)   Re: 2nd set of NBA minifigs, plus real life comparisons

(...) While I like the brown minifigs, my one disappointment is the caucasian players are that icky color (can't think of a name for it) versus plain yellow. In Star Wars, they created minifig likenesses of caucasian characters/actors in yellow, why (...) (22 years ago, 6-Nov-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build.minifigs)

Re: 2nd set of NBA minifigs, plus real life comparisons

(...) Is it just me, or do the left hands on these minifigs seem different in shape? I wonder if they changed them to make it easier for them to hold the LEGO basketball or something. Weird to have minifigs with one hand bigger than the other, (...) (22 years ago, 6-Nov-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build.minifigs)

2nd set of NBA minifigs, plus real life comparisons

For those of us who don't use Macromedia Flash, I've put screencaptures of the 3 new "draftees" from the ongoing LEGO NBA draft at lego.com/sports up on Brickshelf: (URL) when it gets through moderation, you can view this folder for a comparison of (...)   Re: LEGO NBA Draft has started...

(...) Speaking of which, how can you have an NBA collection of any sort without Jordan? I'd love to see a 'classic' line with Rodman, David Robinson, Larry Bird, Magic J, etc. (...) I wholeheartedly agree :) especially since LEGO hairpieces are (...) (22 years ago, 2-Nov-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build.minifigs, lugnet.starwars)

Re: LEGO NBA Draft has started...

Does anyone know how many NBA figures TLC is planning on releasing? I wonder if they have to get permission from the players's agents before making a figure of them? Who are your predictions? What sort of sets do you think we'll see? I'm pretty (...) (22 years ago, 31-Oct-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build.minifigs, lugnet.starwars)
