Very nice, Chris!
I've been toying with the idea of building a Hind for some time now, and
hopefully will get around to it by the summer in time for Brickfest. I don't
know about that five bladed propeller, I'm tempted to just make it a fourbladed
prop in my model, for simplicity.
I like how you did the door on the side for the guys to enter and exit from,
and the detail on the weapons. White camo can look great on military vehicles
if you get it right, I've lost count of the numbers of snow camoed vehicles
I've built over the years.
In terms of constructive feedback on your model, it would be great if you could
somehow make landing gear that folds up, like on the real chopper. Also, if you
can get a smoother taper to the tail somehow using hinges (in the same way as
on the lego Sopwith Camel), that might get away from the slightly boxed look.
And yes, once you get those Imperial Gunship canopies, it will be a whole new
MOC! If you just want the canopies, I think they available now in one of the
yellow Alpha team sets. I camn't find it now, but it is some kind of yellow
walker thing, and I'm sure it had one of those canopies on it.
Interesting info you give on the Hind D. i didn't realise that thye rarely used
the full troop carrying capacity, I thought that was what made it such a unique
attack helicoper.
cheers
Magnus
