(...) The "wooden jet fighter" I think you're talking about is the He162 (Salamander), which *did* fly, however poorly. They even had an Erprobungskommando outfitted with the things, but they were strictly forbidden from engaging enemy aircraft. Or (...) (23 years ago, 13-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.military)
