I spent about 10 hours of build time on this "Stealth" helicopter that I named,
RAH-105 "Thunder-Chief". I incorporated a lot of S.N.O.T. on this moc and it
features an electric lego motor powered by a 9 volt battery that spins the rotor
with just a push of a button. My helicopter also features retractable landing
gear and hidden missles that are mounted under the retractable wings. The
interior is highly detailed and houses two mini-fig pilots. there is a
ball-jointed rotating cannon under the nose and the mini-fig pilots access the
cockpit through a retractable ladder that is under the fuselage.

I started this moc at the canopy and then it just flowed on and on until I was
finished. My favorite detail is the electric rotor. The motor and the 9 volt
battery are completely hidden. It should be noted that this moc (just like all
of my mocs) was built entirely with lego and without the use of glue.

Here is the link to my new moc:

Ryan,

Someone beat me to building a stealth chopper! I may have a go at something like
this myself some time...

This is very cool! I may be missing some of the detail because black doesn't
photograph so well, but from what I can see, youve put a lot of work into this.
Normally I'd say it looks a little chunky, but knowing you've got a motor in
there, it all makes sense. Is the battery box inside the chopper as well?

Most of all I think, I like the landing gear, the fold-out weapons and the
pilots seats. The rotors could be extended alittle perhaps they don't look quite
long enough to be able to lift this up very well.

Thanks for sharing.

Magnus

Thank you for your kind input, Magnus. Yes, the 9 volt battery box is mounted in
the tail section and it is mounted inverted so that I can have easy access to
the button. The lego motor is mounted side-ways behind the co-pilot seat and it
is kind of "bulky".

I never did like the Star Wars "Slave 1" canopy until I built this chopper. The
"Slave 1" canopy is oblong and flows vertical. As you can see, the chopper
starts out that way, but it begins to taper off and flow downward toward the end
of the tail.

I purposely made the rotors short so that they dont extend past the front of the
chopper or hit the large vertical stabilizers on the tail section. The vertical
stabilizers are fully adjustable and can rotate 90 degrees.

You are right about the black not photographing well. I should have used a
florescent light to brighten up the detail.
