Hello!
Thought I would post a pic of one of my latest creations, PT 109. This is the
same torpedo boat made famous during WWII by being piloted by John F. Kennedy,
and its subsequent sinking and heroic actions by its crew.
This is my first attempt at building a military themed model! It is also unique
as it is built to minifigure scale. There are many working elements that give
this a higher level of playability than most of my glued creations.
-the guns pivot and/or turn
-the gun turrets accomodate a minifigure inside the turrets
-the roof of the area behind the captains wheel is removable
-the lifeboat comes off as well
There are more views on brickshelf for those that are intersted:

It was pretty fun to build and I am pleased with how it turned out. Let me know
what you think! I will possibly be doing more military themed models in the near
future as well.
Thanks,
Bill Vollbrecht

| (...) That's great! I love the detailing and I particularly like the white lettering at the bow. Some people don't care for the pixellated hull profile, but I don't mind it so much because it preserves the LEGO-ness of the ship. Very nice job! Dave! | (...) Bill, This is great, I wish I could see even more, maybe the inside of the turret and some more details. Thanks, George (19 years ago, 18-Aug-05, to lugnet.build.military, FTX)
