Hello!
Thought I would post a pic of one of my latest creations, PT 109. This is
the same torpedo boat made famous during WWII by being piloted by John F.
Kennedy, and its subsequent sinking and heroic actions by its crew.

Thats great! I love the detailing and I particularly like the white
lettering at the bow.
Some people dont care for the pixellated hull profile, but I dont mind it
so much because it preserves the LEGO-ness of the ship.
Very nice job!
Dave!

Hey Dave,
Funny thing about the lettering. When I built the prototype I left it blank, in
case the client wanted just a Navy PT instead of specifically PT-109. He saw the
prototype pic a said he did want it as PT-109.
I figured, as I glue it I can design the lettering and glue as I go... Big
mistake! I got the entire hull and the top deck glued before I realized I forgot
to do the lettering! Several hours with a Dremel and chisel later I had the
entire bow section demolished. It was a pain in the butt, but it was better than
rebuilding the entire thing again! Not only would that taken too long, it would
of been a huge waste of my stock of light grey.
Luckily it all turned out fine in the end!
Bill
