Yes, I concede that I'm trying to sneak an uninformed rendition of a caboose by
as European guards' van :). I'd be interested in making it more accurate,
though I couldn't track down James' site just now ... I found a post mentioning
that he was in the process of converting all images over to Brickshelf, and it
seems that the gaurds' vans didn't make the cut quite yet.
Actually, any pics, links, or info on g.v. would be greatly appreciated. If
not, I'll have to simply adopt one of a number of completely implausible
explanations for why American rolling stock has been tacked onto a German
train.

Perhaps the old "American caboose designer of german descent returns to
homeland to offer his services" plotline will suffice, or perhaps the
"eccentric Italian gentleman purchased it in the roaring 20s for his sickly
son's amusement, but it was then appropriated by Germany for the war effort"
story would be better? And don't even get me started with the possiblities in
Russian/X-Filian conspiracy theories ... ;)
