Hej Tobbe

Hej Chris, got me by surprise there!

The Gripen sounds like a challenge!  And of course the ISD is a major
investment.  I once borrowed a series of detailed technical drawings of Swedish
military planes from the library, can't remember the author but they had a
yellow cover.  They were really informative and useful for LEGO models.

Sounds great. When it comes to the Gripen I'll do it like I did with my Hercules
(also 1:20), use the plastic model kit I own and measure all parts from there.
This time, I even scanned the instructions and printed them in the correct 1:20
scale! Just put it on a flat surface and build the fuselage frame on top :)

Here's the scans scaled down:

As for the ISD I intend to play the "wait and hope" game, imagining the price
will fall over time.  It has worked with the other UCS sets.  I'll have to wait
a while longer for this one though.

I can't "afford" to miss this set so I will get it at full retail and perhaps
another one if/when the price drops.

As for my projects, I am still playing around with minfig scale helicopters.  I
go more for overall looks than accurate scale, due to poor math more than
anything!  But the Blackhawk/Pavehawk I have been working on for a while now is
coming along slowly but surely.  I really want to build a carrier, minifig
scale.  But then I am waiting on that ISD!!!

Sounds more like 10 ISD's, if that's enough! I have collected some carrier pics
but it's not anywhere close in my pipline. I want to do a 1:20 tank at some
point, I think I have some plastic model kits of those too, must search for the
instructions...

Other then that I'd like to do all of the Swedish fighter Jets. Perhaps I should
build them in the correct order instead of trying the Gripen first. To get a
hang on the task before I attempt it with round corners :)

Nah. I'll do the Gripen, I can always make a Mk II when/if I have built the
others.

Well, good to hear from you.  Happy building.  Cool website by the way.

Thanks!

/Tobbe
