I think it can be said that Helos have thier uses. Namely against slower ground targets. One of my more favorite stories from the Gulf was an A-10 flying along and came upon a Hind gunship. Another helicoptor movie; has anybody here ever seen Thunderbirds? The movie really sucked, it was a lame Top Gun rip off, but with Apache's instead of F-14 Tomcats. But the point is, every helicoptor in that movie held their own except when put up (...) (23 years ago, 23-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.military)

A pair of UH-1 Huey Gunships ripped through a large number of infantry with heavy armor to back them up, rescued the pilot, and then left with (...)
