For years now, I've always made my bipedal mecha either flimsy thus requiring numerous stoppers (which are eyesores design-wise) to hold up or so rigid that their one pose looked awkward. Philip, Nice helicopter! I usually dislike helicopters, but I can't pinpoint why...Hmm.
