I got the idea when I started toying around with a SBD click hinge based armature:

Hey Chris!

So glad to see new stuff from you. I love how you go for quality over quantity. Every once in a while you show off a mecha that raises the bar in terms of posability and general “coolness”.

Coming from you, the O.G. bar-raiser, that means a lot :)

What first caught my eye is how stylish this mecha is! From your posts and discussions concerning mecha, you come off as very technical and a “function follows form” kind of guy, yet your stuff keeps getting prettier to look at each time. ;-)

Thanks! Lego keeps making it easier for me. I don’t have to spend 90% of the mecha building time inventing custom joints or ways to stiffen pre-existing systems. I think that deep down, they love mecha; but if they ever really tried to make something more sophisticated than LOM, Bandai would slam them. So they just keep giving us better joints...

The lavish waist and shin coverings, ornate head, and overall increased detailing all make me smile. You’ve really come a long way Chris, and I mean that as a big compliment.

Coming from you, that means a lot. Ever since I discovered Lugnet, I’ve been drooling over your mecha :-Q

Now if only you gave your mecha “toys” (and by toys I mean huge freakin’ gunz) to play with, all would be right in this world. :-D

Dang, you know it! I guess I just have no experience making guns. It would take me a week just to build one... I need lessons from the weapons master! ;-)

Good luck with any future endeavours,

Mladen Pejic

BTW what is that trans-blue piece you used for the “eye”?

Heh heh, it’s a part from a Click-its set :-O Yup... Dave will buy any set for the parts ;-)
