That’s a darn fine mech you’ve got there Mark. The technical problems alone involved in building a mech this size boggle my mind, but you pull it off with aplomb.

Technically this thing is a marvel. Your joint tech is giving me the itch to truck over to bricklink in search of technic turntables.

The colour scheme of black/grey with smatterings of red give it a very menacing look. Very nicely done.

Thank you kindly.

I do have a couple of criticisms though, but they are purely subjective so take them with a grain of salt.

And tequila? ;)

First the proportions seem a little odd. It looks to me like it’s too wide for it’s height, mainly due to the fairly squat torso I think.

Secondly, while the chicken legs are cool, and you are undoubtedly the master of this design, I don’t think humanistic arms go with them very well. It just seems a bit incongruous to me. The arms themselves are well built, and I particularly like the hand design, they just seem a bit out of place.

Thanks again. This is partially why I named it Black Mamba. The low body, long arms and legs made me think of something big, yet mobile and fluid, like a snake. Plus the scary face with eyes lower than the shoulders again made me think of a serpentine entity.

For the curious; The black mamba is a snake of Africa, is rather large, fast, and extremely venomous. As the name implies, it is black and has been known to chase down prey. My favorite pics of the mamba come from one of the Steve Irwin specials, he’s holding one by the tail, with his legs spread well apart. As Steve was saying on the show, that if he was an inch shorter or the snake an inch longer he’d “be a goner!”

I wrestled with gun arms, I really did. It just seemed, overdone. Also, I consider arms and hands to be rather difficult, and I want to get better so I do what I find challenging, so the gun arms felt like a cop out as well. Of course talking about all of this is giving me ideas, and thus I’m getting an itch to do another mech so...
