If you connect the chain link to a single Technic link tread (part
3873), you can fit the latter onto a 1x2 plate with arm or similar
piece. IIRC, the Technic link tread also fits into the back of a
standard 1x4 or 1x6 plate, I forget which.
Alternatively, you could try connecting a Technic gear to the round
brick and looping the chain around that. Then you'd need to build
something up against the chain link to keep it from slipping off the
gear. Not a very elegant solution, but it works on the minigun I'm
currently building. ;-)

| thanks for your reply. your single link tread idea is really good. unfortunately, i have none of these. :( perhaps i may get a few when i order some more parts from bricklink. as for the gear idea, your right: it may be a little difficult to keep (...) (22 years ago, 27-Feb-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)
