Hey Chris -
Missed ya at BricksWest this year! Hope you're doing well.
The mini-mecha are a part of a line (tentatively?) called Make & Create.
It's an assortment of open-ended building sets that have general themes and
instructions for many models (some which cannot be made simultaneously)
included. There is a set of insects, spaceships, mecha, and other things --
made with a good mix of basic bricks and specialty elements. They have no
back-story, and are designed for open-ended play.
The mecha are really really cool - they seem to have hit the genre dead-on,
of course simplified for younger builders.
