New MOC: The Rainmaker —Chris Maddison
Hi all, After being totally inspired by GlaGla's awesome Ingram from Patlabor, I sat down yesterday and most of last night building, set out to create a model with minifig arms for fingers. This is the fruit of my labors: (URL) feel this is the best (...) (22 years ago, 1-Apr-02, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.announce.moc)

Cool Chris, very cool... I really like the articulation you put into this mecha. I have yet to master, or even begin to learn and understand, that fine "art". ;-) The weapons are neat too; that blade is positioned perfectly, a la Gundam Heavy Arms. (...)      (...) 'Preciate it. That was my main goal for this one - movement and poseability. (...) Yeah, I did have another gun, some shoulder-mounted missiles, and some other things, but it really made the Rainmaker look cluttered. So I stripped them down. (...)         Re: New MOC: The Rainmaker —Geordan Hankinson
Hey this looks swell Chris! reminds me alot of a VOTOMS mecha, nice, the missile pack on the arm is really well designed, as is the hand gun. I really like the feet too! Very nice shape, and the ankle covers are sweet too. It seems a little studdy, (...) (22 years ago, 1-Apr-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) Thanks Geordan. (...) The handgun was a bit tricky, but I think the facade handle works nicely (while it's in the hand, of course) (...) That's something I'm still having problems with - allowing for ankle movement while keeping them covered. (...) (22 years ago, 2-Apr-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) Thanks Mark. I never would have thought of the hand idea, either. The Japanese are just geniuses. :-) -Chris (22 years ago, 3-Apr-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Hey that is really cool!! I espcially like the blade on the arm (I like the Heavyarms best of all the Gundams). The armor around the feet lok *really* nice!!! out tk (22 years ago, 2-Apr-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New MOC: The Rainmaker —Eric Sophie
ahhh haa! Very cool. hey, built in a day and half a night! Your a trooper! The Mech has some nice features, while I was checking it out I noticed one of the things I like best is how you have the single slope in Between the shoulder armour. It (...)         Re: New MOC: The Rainmaker —Chris Maddison
Thanks for the compliments Eric. The slope in the shoulder - that was the first design I tried, and I liked it a lot, so I kept it. The legs - I'm not totally satisfied with the ankle shrouding, but I can live with it. :-) As for the name, the movie (...) (22 years ago, 3-Apr-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)
