Let's see:
4 studs on sides of head
2 on connection point to head
2 on chest
4 on back of torso
8 total for forearms
4 total for elbow joints
20 total for legs
12 total for feet
6 total for rail gun
8 total for missile launchers
8 on exposed trans-yellow 1x1 plates
---
78 studs TOTAL
As you can see, it's not as stud-less as you think, and yes, it is definitely
LEGO. ;-)
[of course some of those studs are on parts such as dishes, and also slightly
obscured]
