March 3, 2002 300 Hours The increased security has payed off. The first images on the new mecha menace now codenamed "Carver" have been received. Hey all. I would like to showcase my newest and largest mecha ever...Carver. (URL) Stats: 26 points of (...) (23 years ago, 3-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, lugnet.loc.us.ks)

Tony this is looking really swell! The head seems to have alot of personality to it, I like it, I also really like the smooth legs you have there too, and the feet have a awesome shape to them. oo, new hand design from what I can tell, looks cool, I (...)          Re: Codename Carver —Tony Knaak
Hey thanks for the feedback Geordan. I like hearing your guys' comments. (...) I actually built those feet along time ago (right after Christmas). I just had builders block until about a week ago and built the rest of Carver in about a day. (...) (...) (23 years ago, 4-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, lugnet.loc.us.ks)

Check out the chest and that cool effect, and the head has character, the feet are nicely done, I like them. Interesting how you incased or surrounded you gears with slopes up and down. I have only see a couple of people do that. Sweet. Looks like (...) (23 years ago, 4-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

         Re: Codename Carver —Tony Knaak
Eric, thanks man. (...) I chose to make it look "lighter" by not building the traditional mecha "skirt." Instead I thought the incased/exposed gears looked cool. (...) The job that Carver has is little too gruesome for me. I think he will be the (...) (23 years ago, 4-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

        Re: Codename Carver —Jordan Greer
That's a very elegant and graceful looking mecha. It reminds me of a deadly ballerina dancer or something, heh. Good work! I'm interested in the engineering of that mecha. I'd appreciate it if ya' posted any internal shots or shots of the gears and (...) (23 years ago, 4-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, lugnet.loc.us.ks)

         Re: Codename Carver —Tony Knaak
(...) I really don't have any internal gears, just what you see here on the hips... (URL) are two worm gears inside this case. The gears on the thighs, shown here... (URL) "plug" into the round technic holes on the hip case. everthing else is pretty (...) (23 years ago, 5-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, lugnet.loc.us.ks)

        Re: Codename Carver —Christopher Snead
(...) pic, I was intrigued by the hint of a worm gear in the thigh area. My favorite parts of this mecha are the head and the feet. I also like the way you made the lower legs, with the Gundam-esque bulge. A fine model indeed! And it looks very (...)         Re: Codename Carver —Tony Knaak
(...) For my articulation, I just counted all the moveable joints. I strive for the most poseable creations I can make, as close to real human movement as possible. The problem I run into is that I add alot of weight in the torso and arms, and the (...) (23 years ago, 5-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, lugnet.loc.us.ks)
