Almost-Mecha with Throwbot parts —Jeremy H. Sproat
Hey all, I've tried my hand at using Throwbot parts for large mecha, here it is: (URL) credit goes to the first person who can tell me which episode of Macross where we first see this bully. :-, The model is *almost* done; I ran out of parts for the (...)         Re: Almost-Mecha with Throwbot parts —Mark Sandlin
Ah, the venerable Tomahawk. Afraid I don't know which episode it debuted in, though. Looks real nice, Sproat. You've captured the chunky, armored look of it very well. Those ThrowBots parts do make it difficult. I don't know if I will ever go back (...) (25 years ago, 10-May-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Almost-Mecha with Throwbot parts —Eric Joslin
(...) Isn't that the BattleTech name for it? I thought it was called the "Excalibur" in Macross. eric (25 years ago, 10-May-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Almost-Mecha with Throwbot parts —Jeremy H. Sproat
(...) I thought the BattleTech name was Warhammer. (...) I sure hope so. :-, Cheers, - jsproat (25 years ago, 10-May-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Almost-Mecha with Throwbot parts —Jeremy H. Sproat
(...) Waitaminute. I think I'm using the Robotech name for it. Fooey. Oh, well. Cheers, - jsproat (25 years ago, 10-May-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Almost-Mecha with Throwbot parts —Eric Joslin
(...) D'oh. I'm almost positive I am- I think my knowledge of the name of this 'mech (or, I suppose I should say "destroid") comes from the Matchbox Robotech toy line and the Robotech RPG by Palladium. Whoops! Heh. eric (25 years ago, 10-May-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Almost-Mecha with Throwbot parts —Mark Sandlin
     You DID say Macross, Sproat. ;^) ~M (...) well. (...) 'mech (...) Robotech toy (...) (25 years ago, 10-May-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Almost-Mecha with Throwbot parts —Jeremy H. Sproat
(...) Nerd. ;-) It looks like the literature isn't going to back me up on this one. According to its technical notes entry (1) in the Unofficial ROBOTECH Reference Guide, 2060 Edition, the name "Excalibur" was created just for the Matchbox toy line, (...)         Re: Almost-Mecha with Throwbot parts —Eric Joslin
(...) of the mecha I've seen so far with Throwbot parts. This is definitely the beefiest one I've seen! (...) Erm. Is this a trick question? I'm relatively sure they appear on Macross Island in the first episode, "The Trap". eric (25 years ago, 10-May-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Almost-Mecha with Throwbot parts —Bryan Wong
(...) Like other people, I was expecting a skinny model, but in your model, I can hardly see the Throwbot parts! (...) Coming from a Mechwarrior point of view, isn't that a Warhammer? :) (...) Yes, I think the legs are beautiful. They have that (...) (25 years ago, 11-May-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Almost-Mecha with Throwbot parts —Brian Stuhan
It's a nice mech. Now let's see some GUNDAMS! (25 years ago, 14-May-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Almost-Mecha with Throwbot parts —Mark Sandlin
You have some nice, Japanese mecha-type designs there, but nothing that I can readily identify as being Gundam-flavored. Was there one MOC in particular that you felt was like a Gundam? ~Mark (...) (URL) (25 years ago, 15-May-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Almost-Mecha with Throwbot parts —John Aronson
Yea, well I think my Victory Striker space custom is about the closest thing I've made to a gundam. My next project isn't gundam at all its the Gear M-REX from Metal Gear: Solid. Here some pictures of it: (URL) you think this looks cool?, I do. (...) (25 years ago, 15-May-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Almost-Mecha with Throwbot parts —Jason J. Railton
(...) Very nice. I'm impressed. But, I wouldn't try rebuilding it for a minifig pilot - it's not big enough, so I think you'd ruin the look deforming it to take one. Don't spoil it. Just my thoughts... JJ. (25 years ago, 21-May-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Almost-Mecha with Throwbot parts —Jeremy H. Sproat
(...) Really? I once saw a cut-away graphic (1) for Macross which showed the pilot sitting in the (cramped) cockpit, which filled a good portion of the top half of the torso. Plus, in the Macross movie, the machine is fairly close to ~ 4-5-ish (...) (24 years ago, 7-Jun-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)
