  bullfrog

Well, I mentioned this one in an aside a while back, and even though I'm only posting it today, it was really done a few weeks ago, so I can't in all conscience enter it in the contest.... I guess I'll have to do something else. Anyway, while I move (...) (23 years ago, 7-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: bullfrog

(...) You can check the contest rules, but you should be able to enter it since it is only now that you have posted pictures of the bullfrog. (...) I can't quite agree that it "ain't much". I love what you have done with this MS (it reminds me of (...) (23 years ago, 7-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: bullfrog

(...) Excellent. I think you did a very nice job of making rounded shoulders. Reminds me of one of Masamune Shirow's Landmates from Appleseed. I don't recall very many Technic scale mecha before. Cool. ~Grand Admiral Muffin Head (23 years ago, 7-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: bullfrog

(...) That's beautiful--hardsuits are difficult because of LEGO proportions at the minifig scale, but you've taken TECHNIC scale and made something that looks really nice but isn't overpowering! I really like the "understated" utility of the (...) (23 years ago, 8-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: bullfrog

(...) Thanks--indeed, this one is not covered in greeblies-- it really is just a (hard) shell. I think there's some minor asymmety in all my mecha-- sometimes intentional, sometimes forced by piece count. (...) oh no! Not at all! In fact, the (...) (23 years ago, 8-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: bullfrog

(...) Thanks GAMH. You have picked the right reference-- Shirow is always a big influence. His Landmates are so pared down and organic, though, it's a personal challenge to achieve in a rectilinear medium. thanks for your comments. stuart (23 years ago, 8-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: bullfrog

(...) oh, hey, I think you frogs stick together... and thanks for liking it, really. It is much appreciated. I hope I didn't offend anyone-- I didn't mean to be excessively anything. But in my own defence, my criteria for self-analysis follow: Did I (...) (23 years ago, 8-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: bullfrog

(...) I found this: "2. Model must be an original mecha creation made after Nov. 29" That counts the bullfrog out, which is perfectly ok. (...) thanks, B! (...) yeah, I was hoping actually to get the inside the _legs_ instead. Oh, well. If it's used (...) (23 years ago, 8-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: bullfrog

(...) I like the overall form of this mech a lot. It's very different from anything I've seen before and it definitely has an amphibian feel to it. Definitely like the whole technic fig hardsuit theme as well. Seeing these pics have inspired me to (...) (23 years ago, 8-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: bullfrog

Beautiful! That is stupendous! I love it! it has such a smooth shape to it, all of the angles and curves flow together nicely, I really like this! the feet are awesome as well, and technic fig scale too! woohoo! Thanks for sharing a awesome model (...) (23 years ago, 8-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: bullfrog

(...) Stuart, Don't underestimate this mecha. It has wonderfully clean lines. I haven't seen one this clean in quite some time. And the shoulder design is beautiful! I really like it. And I'll only quickly mention the obvious: Technic fig cockpit = (...) (23 years ago, 9-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) Hey, cool. If by clean, you mean 'unadorned', then we're talking the same language. thanks thanks (...) haw! Perhaps I need to create a hungry predator mech. Is the BMW safely boxed away? more to come... stuart (23 years ago, 10-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: bullfrog

(...) Thanks, Sun. I don't know if it's '_very_ different', but I'm glad you like it. I'm curious to see what you might come up with, since I admire your technique so. regards, stuart (23 years ago, 10-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: bullfrog

(...) Thank you very much. Now, as to making it minifig scale, were you thinking of just changing the cockpit configuration, and maintaing the overall size, or were you thinking of scaling down the whole thing? In either case, all I've DATed is the (...) (23 years ago, 11-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)
