Bah. The Bandai version is less poseable, less detailed, less accurate, • and
you can't even put the gunpod on the bottom in fighter mode.

No I won't. You can have those. :^P

I don't want to argue or anything

Nothing wrong with a bit of debate, as long as it's all civil. :^)

but I've played with all of the new Yamato
Valks and they all seem exceedingly cheap to me.  Yes they are more posable
and have better proportions but the quality of the toys seems like a shadow
of the Takatoku/Bandai toys.  To me the originals are a much more
professional product.  At best I think the Yamato's just hark back to a
better time for Japanese robot toys.

I think what you are calling "quality" is the fact that the old toys are
larger, heavier, and sturdier. This is a factor of the toys being made
specifically for kids, so they need to be tough. The newer valks are
more of a collector's toy, so they aren't built to be able to withstand
a child's rough handling.

I've handled both versions as well, but I don't agree that the Yamato
versions are lower in quality. I think they're simply not as "Tonka
tough." :^)

Anyway, the review I posted addresses some of these differences. Check
it out.

(...) I think this is really what I'm getting at. I like the large heavy sturdy quality of the Takatoku Valks. I like the fact that such an amazing piece of engineering -was- made for kids.
