When I built an entry for the HoverThingy contest, it got me thinking about
another project I've wanted to do for a while--a police hovercar that
converted into a mech. The original inspiration for this was the video game
Future Cop LAPD, although I haven't played the game in 2 years and didn't go
back to it to model this after it specifically.
Check it out at:
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=6738
It's got everything a police department could want in a hovering patrol car:
-Bucket seats (that eject)
-Dual cupholders
-Gull-wing doors
-Three modes:
1. Patrol mode
2. Pursuit mode, when the armament (two 4-missile packs and four chain
guns) comes out
3. Assault mode, where the legs and arms fully deploy for a mech-like
enforcer
This is just a first pass; I'll definitely rebuild this in the future with
bulkier arms and legs, and hips that swing so it can stand in more natural
positions. (It's a miracle this one stands at all...) LMKWYT, either by
email or posting!
Thanks,
Peter

| (...) Cool design Peter! very original, although I can't say I like future cop, crummy control and confoozing graphics, this is awesome. (...) This is very cool! and original! I prefer the hover mode, you hid the mecha components (arms etc.) very (...) (23 years ago, 5-Sep-01, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)
