Just out of intrest, how long do most people keep their creations alive for?
In other words, how long do you wait to throw your mech off the third
floor?(just kidding)

I know Bryce and Eric keep all of their mechs alive, but I'm wondering about
the rest of you. I usually destroy mine as soon as I need parts from it. Of
course I try to avoid doing that, but unless it's neccesary, then I don't
bust em' up.

So far, my pellet guns and my gladiator I mech hold the record for longest
life. Pellet guns being about a month and a half, and my gladiator mech
being just over a month now.(and still going!) Gladiator isn't entirely
intact I must say though. I'm about two weeks now with my latest mech which
you haven't seen yet, only because I've been tweaking him constantly. I have
a over abundance of ten creations (planes, spacecraft you name it) that I'm
looking forward to sharing tommorow, and consequently, I'm plum out of pieces!

(...) My mechs stay alive forever or until they fall and can't be reassebled because of my lack of memory. But other than that they are still intact. (23 years ago, 6-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) Depends. If I really, really like it, and have perfected it, it has/will stay around. If not, Bye-Bye it goes! (...) The number of parts is always an issue. If any of my creations take a lot of rare pieces, I'll enter it into CAD and then (...) (23 years ago, 6-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) Great question, Geordan! I keep them alive for quite awhile. At least a year. Warthog was re-built after being sold, as was Xerxes. Overkill had a big fall and was altered to become Overkill Mk.II. After it's even worse fall, I'm not (...) (23 years ago, 6-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)
  Re: a small insignificant survey

(...) Depends on how much I like the creation, and how badly I want the parts for something new. My Hardygun and Helldog II have been intact since April, before the LLC gathering. I think my longest-lived creation was my Enforcer mecha, which was (...) (23 years ago, 6-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Hmm... my first mechs I've had for about a year, but if your talking about any MoC, probally the oldest thing I still have together is a cheap amphibious tank I built in 4th grade. It's been changed ofter because the design was bad, but the original (...) (23 years ago, 7-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

For the most part, I keep 'em running until I or the cats accidentally destroy them. I did voluntarily dismantle the Kiseru a few weeks ago 'cause I needed pieces, but this is not normal for me. --Colin (...) (23 years ago, 7-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Well, I don't build with mech at all, but I thought I'd toss my two cents in about my town/space/castle structures. Thinking back upon my oldest MOC...I'd say it strectched back ten years or so. Over the past five years or so, I've increased the (...) (23 years ago, 9-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)
