Thanks Chris! I'm glad you like the bent B-ENT staff, hehe... ;-)

Never thought about using the "metal detector piece thingy-bob" like
that...it's kewl.

He does look kinda back-heavy tho...if bumped a bit from the front, it looks
like it'd fall over.

Yeah, most of my mecha do. They look like this cause I bend the knees, to • show
that they do indeed have some articulation. Also the radome and thruster
really make the back seem huge...

Yeah, I have this problem w/ my small ones too...they have so much back gear
that they fall over.  I usually remedy this by giving the mech extra-big
"heels", to even out the center of gravity.  (example being the Angel, seen
here:  http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=41737 ).  Without
that extra studlength on the back, it falls over all the time.  BTW, useless
info:  with the exception of my "Sproatian" Ogre, the Angel is the only one
of my minimechs that I gave knee articulation to...it works, I guess...you
gotta be delicate with it or the lower legs and the "knee guards" just fall
right off.  I spent a good 2 hours fiddling with stuff trying to get
something that would work.

Yeah, I tell you, micro-fig mecha are hard to build and pose, but the challenge
is just so great. I sometimes feel like taking some tweezers to fine-tune each
limb and piece. Even one small adjustment to the orientation of a part on the
mecha can have disastrous effect.

BTW are we going to see any more cool new mecha from you, Chris?

(...) Very true. One thing to aid the building, I do use a 1x8 tile and use the flat end to stick into tight places and press things down where my fingers can't get (i.e., damn near everywhere on minimechs :-) (...) Aye, come Brickfest, I'll have (...) (23 years ago, 19-Jun-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)
