The sabre beam is just colored lines and a bit
of photoshop smudging, looks pretty good though.

If you want a real beam of light, i know of thin neon tubes that might fit
the bill.  They sell them for radio controlled cars and are powered by a 9v
battery.  it should be the appropriate size for your gundam and cast a nice
glow to the surounding objects.

I can't remember the manufacturer but you might find it at your local hobby
store or on the web.

(...) I'm going to try to do more action scenes than static hangar scenes for the continuation of my storyline.
