Thanks all for the positive feedback.
I'm going to try to do more action scenes
than static hangar scenes for the continuation
of my storyline. Yes, there will be a BAR firing :-)
I just have to figure out how to do the
lighting effects. As in the above image
it detracts from the realism a bit when
a beam doesn't cast light on surrounding objects.
The sabre beam is just colored lines and a bit
of photoshop smudging, looks pretty good though.
Also the lighting in space is very harsh
and sharp unless it is reflected from some
planetary surface. My indirect torchiere light
is a bit too warm. The matte black background
was created with posterboard, just needed
a little photoshop retouching to remove the seams.

| (...) If you want a real beam of light, i know of thin neon tubes that might fit the bill. They sell them for radio controlled cars and are powered by a 9v battery. it should be the appropriate size for your gundam and cast a nice glow to the (...) (23 years ago, 31-May-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)
