-------------Press release from SigmaTek-------------

-Not bothering to wait for military acceptance of the "A" model, SigmaTek
R&D has produced this prototype of the next SP-44, the "MH" model, "MH"
standing for "Mobile Hospital". this model is also the first to use the
"Rackmount" modular system. the underslung pod is attached to the chassis
with a rail system, which allows the pod to be backed into a holding
mechanism, after which the chassis can depart, leaving the pod. we see
future applications for this technology in almost all fields. the Hospital
Pod shown on the Prototype is designed to be backed up to an existing
military hospital and left, to be used as an OR or whatever is needed. the
extended legs of the new chassis allow it to carry larger loads, although
they can be exchanged for the legs of the "A" model in under two hours. also
of note is the new Reactor Core. the new core is twice the size of the "A"
model reactor, and is more efficient. the reactor is also a removable
module, and can be swapped out in less than half-an-hour! the new "MH" model
is also to be sold to civilian rescue agencies, and is equipped for rescue
in all environments. the redesigned cockpit now houses life-sign monitoring
systems, biorythm sensors, and other systems. the sencors can detect an
injured human at 100 meters, even through a wall of solid iridium. (we've
tested it with a wall of iridium, we assure you that it will work.) the
drivers pod is now equipped with larger window, as well as six powerful
headlamps, which will work in outer space, and to sea depths of up to 1500
feet. in the case of Deep Sea or Outer Space rescue, the R&D department is
working on an airlock attachment for the Hospital Pod. what's more, the MH
model is equipped with a beefed up sheer surfaces modification package,
allowing it to climb up cliff faces, and even traverse the ceilings of
caves. in the case of the latter, the driver could even invert the leg
hinges, allowing the cockpit and pod to remain upright. while we do not have
a picture of this mechanism in action, we are in the midst of final field
trials, and will hopefully have a picture of this amazing function up
shortly. another innovation, from SigmaTek.

-------------End Press Release-------------

(Ok, it isn't a new mech, but I really like the chassis, and I'll probably
design other pods for it. if anybody likes, I can even put up details of the
rackmount system, so they can design their own pods and mechs for it. as
always, tell me what you think, what you like, dislike, can't stand, etc.)

SigmaTek has finished the construction of an Airlock Unit for the Medical Pod, as well as furniching the pod itself. the pod has space for six patients, all beds are equipped with life-function monitors, which can be observed from the doctor's (...) (23 years ago, 1-Jun-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)
