Yeah, the "thorax" is where all the legs are connected. The turret is also connected to this place. Anyways, I probably shouldn't use terms like "thorax", but I don't know any other good name for that area. ;-) Maybe turret base, or leg connection (...) (...) Geordan and Mladen, Your MAPs are cool. Are they based on something that I don't know about? I'm not familiar with too many mechs from show, RPGs etc. It sort of reminds me of the Ice Spider Tanks from War Planets/Shadow Raiders. A CGI cartoon (...) You got it all wrong. An MAP is only one specific mecha, it is not a class. In the anime movie _Appleseed_ Shirow Masumane made a whole new class of mecha called mobile platforms. One MP can be seen near the end. My MAP and MSP are mobile platforms, (...) (23 years ago, 31-May-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Everybit of inspiration came from mladen. the only animeish show I watch is Dragonball Z although gundam looks pretty enticing but I don't have the channel that it's on in my area. If you're planning on building one of these things 100% of the (...) (23 years ago, 1-Jun-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Appleseed is an anime MOVIE, so therefore the only way to watch it is by renting it. And the movie doesn't really explain a whole lot about the mobile platform.
