Funny you say urban combat, I always pictures this as a desert (or any other wide open space in which a sniper-like mecha can just pick off enemies), or jungle (lots of nice cover, again, here sniper-like mecha has and advantage) (...) Well, if this thing going to replace tanks, it's going to have be deployed in the same environments as tanks :) Glad you like the Scimitar. As for current projects, I was working on a VTOL troop transport. That's going to be scrapped because I don't (...) (23 years ago, 23-May-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

That is correct, but weren't tanks also used in desert warfare, a la Africa during WWII (ex. Tubruk (sp?)) and U.S.S.R. (ex. Kirsk), and during Operation Desert Storm, as well. ASMs can still fight in urban settings, it's just that they were made (...) (23 years ago, 23-May-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)
