This is gonna be a great year for Macross related merchandise.  Although
because of some licensing issues we may not see some of the toys for a while.

Toy wise the VF-11 will be released this spring. The fastpack versions of
the VF-11, YF-19 and YF-21 late this summer.  But the best news of all is
the release of the original valkyries sometime in late summer. Two
companies, Yamato and Toynami, will be producing versions of the VF-1 to be
released late this summer.  Finally my prayers have been answered.

For complete info on upcoming toy releases, check out:

Perhaps the biggest news is that U.S. based Toynami has secured a clear
license to the entire Robotech series from Harmony Gold.  This is huge.  This
allows Toynami to use and model any mecha they want.  Can you say Alpha AND
Beta?  What about Cyclone?  Plus there are indications that they will be
releasing fast packs for the VF-1's and other configurations.  Perhaps the
neatest thing is that the company's president is also a Macross fan and
formed the company with the production of a valkyrie in mind. (!)  Be aware
that the production is going to be limited, so keep checking. Oh, Boy! Time
to save those pennies!

Magnificent.  I remember having the Japanese Cyclone model
ordered through an outlet, and getting my Alpha fighters at
K-B when they were remaindered there...

Oooo!!!  Time for me to start scalping my Matchbox SDF-1 Super Fortress
(MIB-whatever)!!!!
Man, some of those overseas import toys from waaaaay back were TOO COOL.
Wish I had saved my BETA fighters too :o(
Here's to hoping for them LEGO toys too!

I never managed to find the Betas.  I do have the maroon
and green Alphas, however; one has a broken gun, and they're
a bit played-with, but they're still spiffy to break out and
transform a few dozen times.  Neat!  I still hope one day
to build a decent LEGO Alpha, but we'll see.

Of course, if you wanted a decent Valkyrie, you could always
buy the Transformer Jetfire (about seven to nine years ago),
which came with the super-armour (albeit in red).  I still
have mine, extra parts and all, the only Transformer I kept
when I sold the rest of the lot.  *sigh*
