The Newest light power-armor from Sigmatek. designed for use in cramped
environments like cities, the Wyvern is capable of massive amounts of
destruction. the large "wing" across the drive joints, behind the cockpit,
allows for the mounting of practically any weapon system. power comes from
up to 3 HF-21 Oroborous fusion reactors. the model shown here,
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=3654
is fitted as follows:
2- Light machine guns (outside cockpit)
2- medium pulse lasers (Right hip)
2- 105mm cannon (left wing)
1- Springer "Bloodhound" sensor package (Right Wing)
4- Heavy plasma accelerators (L & R arms)
4- cannistered flechette missile launchers (L & R shoulders)
1- Spider Heavy laser (head, draws power directly from reactor 3)
1- Sigmatek Custom, Nuclear launch capsid (rear, single shot, discardable)
1- Sigmatek Custom, variable rocket launcher pod (underslung)
--Ammo Load: (model shown)
--40 conventional explosive guided rockets
--20 plasmite incendiary guided rockets
--15 tetrachloric chemical missiles
a common question is "why are the legs designed the way they are?"
-the answer? after careful study by Sigmatek R&D, it was realised that a
unit with a high degree of vertical mobility would have a distinct
advangtage in limited areas like cities. the design of the Wyvern's legs
allows it to carry a huge number of powerful motive pistons specifically
tuned to facilitate maximum jumping altitude. while jump jets might've been
a simpler alternative, they create a highly visible target for infra-red
guided weaponry. The Wyvern's jump design produces no more heat than it does
while running, and provides a projected jump altitude of nearly 200 feet.
future designs will incorporate mechanisms to allow the Wyvern to scale the
sides of buildings, increasing its usefullness as a spotting unit for
artillery units like the Diomedes.
