HISTORY

The Qwelder-Mech series of Quadra-peds are known for their ability to quell any skirmish they are sent in to deal with. When a Qwelder-Mech is spotted on the field, it is most likey your last sight.

Making use of a heavy Auto Cannon, dubbed the Coffe Frother™, this Mech to end all Mech battles usually enters a campaign unknown to the forces on the field by blasting away with the “Horizon Lighter” tactic. All but obliterating the terrain and any unfortunate mechanicals that are still left after the frantic comms chatter always heard when one of these beasts enter the theater.

The nature and clan affiliation of the Qwelder-Mech contingents are unknown. They simply are called out by their masters to put an end to constant skirmishes and petty rivalries. The Soy Nut Missiles™ are another source of the unfathomable power these giant machines possess. Any Mecha or other support vehicles left on the battle field during the aftermath of the Coffe Frother’s™ Auto Cannon use, are mercilessly tracked down, long/short/and medium range style from the Missile Pod.

Originally fitted with a tethered rocket propelled grab claw, the Missle Pod see’s multiple use. The Qwelder-Mech is also fitted with two anti-personnel swiveling Squirt Guns™ in the front center section of the Quad truss.

Front and rear chest mounted missile pods house a smaller yet equally effective array of ordinance called “Peck Mech Busters™”. Though a Qwelder-Mech rarely needs to use them. Instead relying on the main auto cannon and missile pod to dispatch what ever warring parties are at hand in one fell swoop.

TASTES GOOD

I really enjoyed building this model. It was a challenge and I had a lot of fun. The model is big and very sturdy. The tyres in the feet provide a really good set of grips to aid in standing.

My goal was to share ideas with the other contestants and hopefully bite in to a big pepper at the end.

THANK YOU!

(...) --SNIP-- Hi Eric, I have to say this is by far my favourite design of yours in a long time. You've combined your style with the concept art very well. Seems like you need to be given more challenges ;) Tim (19 years ago, 31-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

(...) -snip a lot stuff- (...) Soy-nut missiles? Coffe Frother? Mmmm... OKAY! :-p First off, I really like how you took this mecha in a new direction, without betraying your signature style. Secondly, this mecha is just fabulous, both technically (...) (19 years ago, 31-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

If the judging panel includes the usual Japanese actress/pop star, she'd probably say: "This mech makes my teeth giggle" See what happens when you finally realize that violence is the way!? Those legs look like they could support both the mech, and (...) (19 years ago, 1-Feb-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

I like the articulated head most, definitely wins the cockpit coolness category. It reminds me of something, but I can't think what. Maybe a turtle, or a vulture. The yellow and grey color combo looks great. I dig the "01" on the missile pod. I (...) (19 years ago, 1-Feb-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)
