Re: Iron Mecha Entry - Centaur.

(...) While you've managed to give this mecha quite an organic look, I can't help but feel that you've neglected the greebles a bit too much. As it is, the mecha almost looks like an animal rather than an organic machine. Also, while you don't need (...) (19 years ago, 27-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Iron Mecha 2nd Update

(...) How about a deep woods logging mecha. Giant chainsaw for one arm, and a detention cell for the other (to cage captured environmentalists, bears, etc.), that or a missile launcher to shoot down owls, can't let any escape. :-) K (19 years ago, 27-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Type M-24B Support Walking Tank

(...) Ah yes the lack of oxygen does wonders for getting the creative juices flowing. I tried to capitalise on this and build a battlesuit yesterday but unfortunately I was all juiced out :( No cup holders - United Space commanders found that (...)   Help finding Mecha builder's names

I'm looking for the real name (and email address if possible) of the following Brickshelf accounts. If you know (or are) one of these people please let me know. You can email me if you'd rather at lil_lions_musings@hotmail.com. CosmicAfterBurn (...) (19 years ago, 27-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Type M-24B Support Walking Tank

(...) Remind me to partially collapse my lung next time I'm there's a mecha competition, it might improve my entry. This mech rocks, but I have a couple of questions: Does the cockpit have a cup-holder, and is it legal in Kentucky? -Keith (19 years ago, 27-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Iron Mecha Entry - The Gentleman Crab

You've crystalized my thought and intentions eloquently. You had me at hello. -Keith Built the thing on (...) (19 years ago, 27-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  IRON MECHA - Still unfinished

Here is my progress report. I'm still working on a medium size mecha. The leg joints have been totally redesigend again. I also worked on the upper body and the weapons.   Re: Type M-24B Support Walking Tank

(...) Thanks Jon - detail is always the name of the game! I'm not familiar with the Cicada (not that I'm all that knowledgeable on Battletech in general) but from the sound of the name I'm glad I added the AA gun ;) (...) That I plan to do!   Re: Iron Mecha Entry - The Gentleman Crab

(lugnet ate my first reply, so here is a repost) I'm trying to figure this out... The ship comes in, unloads some containers, they are hoisted by a crazy crane into a pit. This pit is adjacent to another pit containing an unruly tentacled monster (...) (19 years ago, 26-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Type M-24B Support Walking Tank

Zac, What can I say, This is just a well executed mecha. I love the amount of detail in such a small package. It kinda reminds me of a Cicada from Battletech, that is, until you added the AA guns. :) Keep on building! Jon (19 years ago, 26-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Type M-24B Support Walking Tank

(...) Ahhh OK that makes sense ;) White I could have done, except I don't have enough 1x1 round bricks in white. Red and blue are definite possibilities though - blue would have probably worked nice on the model. I see your point though - black was (...) (19 years ago, 26-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Type M-24B Support Walking Tank

(...) Thanks Marco. I suppose that the moral of the story is never skimp on joints - in the long run making sacrifices for more sturdier joints is going to make the model more dynamic and thus better. And yeah I'm very happy with it's posability! (...) (19 years ago, 25-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

(...) Thanks Mark, As a programmer I feel quite embarraced that I didn't do the ftx properly! At least I got the text links right! In my defence, it seems a really wierd 'language'. I'm glad you liked the model. Yeah boxy was the aim - I was (...) (19 years ago, 25-Jan-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Type M-24B Support Walking Tank

(...) Thanks Mladen. Yeah your tips helped me to put just the right finishing touches. The AA guns I love too (even more than the rocket pod yet funnily enough the guns were a lot less effort) and they do depress to about -5 degrees although the (...) Hi Zac, great job! I like the legs and feet. The details and the guns. But most of all I like that look of this bulky body heading straight foreward to blow away everything that's in the way.
