Re: Power Armor with alternate arm design

I reworked the pictures. ~ (2 URLs) Power Armor>> (URL) Marco> (19 years ago, 22-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Ranger

(...) Thank you, Jon. (...) There are only friction pins in the weapons joints. The leg/feet use a 1x1 with two side studs. (...) I'm satisfied with that too. The legs and the upper body complement one another. (...) As I told Eric, one day I had (...) (19 years ago, 22-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Ranger

(...) Thank you, Mladen. (...) Good idea. I give it a try. If I'm happy with the result I'll post it. (...) The cockpit in fact was the most challenging part of the whole mecha. (...) Thanks again for the reply (URL) Marco> (19 years ago, 22-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Ranger

(...) Thanks for the reply Bryce. (...) Starting with the legs, I couldn't change the primary design for the upper body. This and the small size lead to the martial look. (...) You're refering to Colin R. Gutierrez and Kyle Keppler from the LMHoF? (...) (19 years ago, 22-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: IRON MECHA

Awesome. I'm in. -- Nathan Wells (19 years ago, 22-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Ranger

(...) Thanks for the praise, Eric. (...) Well, I wanted to have something tricky on that small guy. (...) One day it came over me, suddenly had had a picture in my brains. It just didn't want to disapear... (...) It was six houres in two days. Thats (...) (19 years ago, 22-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Ranger

(...) Hi Danny, (...) This is exactley what I was going for. Everything started with the idea of those very functional legs. Only rotational articulation in them. (...) Thanks for your tips on nameing. It's always a hard piece of work for me to find (...) (19 years ago, 22-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Worm Gear Problem

(...) A very interesting trick, Danny. Here is my implementation of your no-backlash transmission: (URL) Of course there is a trade-off between backlash and friction, but your design allows easy trimming. Philo (19 years ago, 22-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.technic, FTX)

  Re: Ranger

(...) Very nice ,Marco This reminds me of some of my earlier mecha. I used to use black technic friction pins for joints like crazy! I like the boxy look of it all. I see that your three stud wide leg worked out better than the one I tried back int (...) (19 years ago, 22-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: The Soren Building Challenge

As mentioned in the abysmally long thread, I am also in. 9 months is enough time for this build. I only wish the scale were a tad bit bigger (18 inches), but 12 inches at the shoulder will be a nice scale challenge. -Dave (19 years ago, 22-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: IRON MECHA

Please can you count me in?- Thanks, this sounds like an awsome contest... Justin Ramsden (19 years ago, 22-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: IRON MECHA

What an excellent idea to free me of my "builder's block". And also post my 1st message. Count me in! (19 years ago, 22-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  The Soren Building Challenge

Several builders have privately agreed to do Soren's build anyway just for fun. The "group" for lack of a better term would like to re-open it to .mecha. We are following the original rules posted in Soren's challenge: "We’re building this: (URL) (...) (19 years ago, 22-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: IRON MECHA

(...) The trick won't be building but getting my camera back from repairs in time to photograph the bugger. Anyways, I'll toss in my two bricks. James (who wonders if he'll get LEGO at christmas again!) (19 years ago, 21-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: IRON MECHA

I am throwing this quick post in. I was contacted by another of our magnificent builders, Tuomas "TheQ" Kukkamaa. He wishes to join in the fun and is having difficulties with Lugnet. Will the other competitors tremble in fear or will they stand up (...) (19 years ago, 22-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Ranger

(...) Very cool Marco! The yellow could be toned down in places, but otherwise the colour scheme is alright. Perhaps you could substitute the yellow for a third colour in some places. Maybe a dark grey, or even a white. I dunno... I'm just amazed (...) (19 years ago, 22-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Ranger

(...) It looks a bit more military with the harder angles and such. Reminds me of Colin or Keppler back in the day. (19 years ago, 22-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Worm Gear Problem

(...) Hi Eric, I actually intended that the inherent backlash in the z16s was exploited to turn them in a little after the positioning. You could replace my z16s with two z24s and a z8, making one of the z24s a clutch gear so you could turn them (...) (19 years ago, 22-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.technic)
