The sky was actually pretty easy. It was really just a cut-and-paste from
the documentation. I've included the pertinent part below.
Most of the work was done by L3PAO (I think that's the right letters :-). I
added the sky and ended up manually modifying the floor.
I played with the camera angle in L3PAO until I got the sort of look I
wanted.
Its actually my third rendering. The first two were really just learning how
to get through the MLCad -> L3PAO -> POV-Ray sequence.

I was aiming for a really simple vehicle with this. I'm thinking about
adding something to the side studs near the leg mounts. But I like the simple
legs. I've been eyeing the aquanauts canopies, but I don't have any. Being a
mostly Technic and Castle guy, canopies are scarce in my collection. Most of
my space-y parts are SW and some launch command stuff I picked up at the Kohl's
sale.
Unfortunately, I only have two of the key parts (the funky piece at the base
and the canopy). But, I plan to build another. I may arm the other more
heavily. This one is meant to be a fast, light unit.

I'll probably be rendering my scorpian soon.
Thanks for the feedback,
