Technic lends itself to cross reinforcement. Apart from gears, thats one of the
coolest things about it, the ability to lock everything together. You only need
to be careful about not locking things together in a way that may cause a Lego
part to break when stressed.
Also, when you skin a skeleton, if you build it in durable chunks that dont
atomize, then they just fall off as complete units and reassembly is simple.
When you have something made out of nearly 5000 parts that only comes apart into
a dozen chunks when it crashes down, its not a real disaster.
