Danny, the only real difference between my game and standard Battletech is
the rules for miniature conversion are changed a bit. As you are probably well
aware, Battletech uses hex map sheets normally. I chose to go with a bit
different approach due to the scale of the miniatures (hehe). Instead of hex
facings, I use compass points, so there are eight possible facings for a Mech
when it is standing still. It costs one movement point to turn a single facing.
Also for purposes of movement and firing ranges 1 movement point= 4 inches= 1
hex in Battletech terms, and 1 elevation= 3inches. If a mech falls we determine
what direction it fell by using 1D8. This system has worked out surprisingly
well in the last 3 years I have run the game. All other game play mechanics and
rules are straight out of the Battletech Rule Books.
Hope that helps you,
-Jon
