  Velociraptor

Well I got a sick bug again, which means, build time! Oh wait, and rest. Yeah. So I thought I'd have some fun and make a nice easy ridgid mech: (URL) It's called, Velociraptor. Kind of tall, kind of angular and mean looking, the green reminds me of (...) (19 years ago, 17-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.space, FTX) !!

  Re: Velociraptor

Folder moderated and (URL) MOC> page is now up. Additional insight on construction can be found there. Mark (19 years ago, 17-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

(...) Cool! I think it's a frog! :] KDJ ___...___ LUGNETer #203 (19 years ago, 18-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Velociraptor

(...) You should get "sick" more often. It is indeed mean looking...the name fits. As with all of your mechs, the Raptor looks like it would be a blast to test-drive. Take it down to the 7-11 for a six pack and a lotto ticket. I'd love to make some (...) (19 years ago, 18-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Velociraptor

(...) Greeeaaaaaat. Just Great. It's bad enough to have Shogun standing heroically on my desktop pointing in the general direction of where I store my lego, and now you have to go fall sick and further convince me that I need to take a break from (...)   Re: Velociraptor

(...) Thanks, again. I feel a little bit cheated on my next Mech. Somehow, I guess via e-mail charma, they have quite a resemblance. I guess you have mentored me more than you thought. I like the animalistic references with the cockpit and feet. (...) (19 years ago, 18-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Velociraptor

(...) I hope you're feeling better Mark. ;-) I like this mech a lot. The legs look perfect, the colour usage is just right, and the detailing (i.e. the engines) is nice. Well done. The guns on the top, with the radomes, however feel a bit out of (...) (19 years ago, 18-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Velociraptor

(...) Hi Mark, I hope you're not seriously ill! Again you did a great job! I enjoied the MOC page very much. You mentioned some quite interesting details. Beneath the overall look of Velociraptor I like the three barreld guns most. Fantastic idea! (...) (19 years ago, 18-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Velociraptor

(...) Good stuff as usual Mark. My favs on this one are the triple barrel gun pods (especially the tips) and I also noticed on the detail pics the piston that braces the leg is actually not a piston but some clever legoing! (URL) have a question (...) (19 years ago, 19-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Velociraptor

(...) Funny, because that was one of the name ideas... Frog just didn't stick. Thanks Kyle. Mark (19 years ago, 19-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Velociraptor

(...) Ok, we'll just need a license and proof of insurance, don't forget to try out all the features, mulible targeting array, duplexing coolant systems, side curtain airbags, and new engine dampining for a quiet ride. (...) Would you believe I've (...) (19 years ago, 19-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Velociraptor

(...) GREAT! Yeah the ridgid leg design is nice for mecha building because of lack of need of specialized parts and the strength of the joints. The bad side is it doesn't move but you can stack all kind of brick on top of it and it'll hold the pose. (...) (19 years ago, 19-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Velociraptor

(...) D'HO! Sorry about that. Well you know what they say about great minds. "Great minds think alike and fools seldom differ." I know I'm a fool so.... (...) The angles kept playing upon themselves with this creation. It worked really well. (...) I (...) (19 years ago, 19-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Velociraptor

(...) I'm getting there. I think the Lego therepy is the way to go. Get sick make MOCs, the real secret to faster healing. (...) Thank you sir. Thank you very much. (...) I was chatting with Keith the other night about these things, he asked me, (...) (19 years ago, 19-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Velociraptor

(...) Ech. Strep throat with a side of ear infection. Feel like poo. Getting in build time helps much. (...) Thanks for the comments Marco! (...) Thanks man, I will. Mark (19 years ago, 19-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Velociraptor

(...) "So clever you could put wiskers and a tail on it and call it a weasel." (...) Nope. It's a low slung cockpit meant for looking forward and down. Doesn't it ever bother you that all these monstrous mechs can see forward and above but not (...) (19 years ago, 19-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Velociraptor

(...) Well, that IS a nice idea, but so far at least, I've never seen any train decorative slides and wheel blocks used as greebling. So you now know hwat to expect, in general ;-) Legoswami Samarth (19 years ago, 19-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Velociraptor

(...) Missile banks flanking the cockpit is one of my personal favorite motifs. The overall style of the mech reminds me a lot of the Shadowcat, which is one of my favorite mechs to drive in MW4, although I think Velociraptor is at least twice as (...)   Re: Velociraptor

Hey this is very cool. Green too! Building while under the weather. You have more than one sickness. I ought to know! Very cool Mech. Fast build! I really like the boat hulls under the arms and the wedge bricks in the shoulder structure. I see cool (...) (19 years ago, 19-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)
