Shade, Mech for the SnowLeopard Clan Ninjas —Mark Neumann
(URL) Here's a new mech to start your week off. (URL) Shade>. (URL) Deep Link> I've been trying to push myself lately, trying mecha stuff I don't feel that I am particuarily good at. (read: small stuff) So how do you think I did? What could be (...) (20 years ago, 19-Dec-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Shade, Mech for the SnowLeopard Clan Ninjas —Eric Sophie
(...) Wow! Dang. (...) I think it is tottally great. (...) wow (...) sweet! (...) This is so cool. Great size, cool parts, nifty Snow Leopard Tech. The upper shoulders are sweet, I like the 3x3 w/o corner plates. The hands are tried and true. The (...) (20 years ago, 19-Dec-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Shade, Mech for the SnowLeopard Clan Ninjas —Mark Neumann
(...) he, he, thanks! (...) Yeah, I deliberated on that, believe me. But ultimately anything on that brick interferes with articulation. Thus, I left it blank. (...) I messed with some of the pics too, (URL) check this out>. I'll get my photography (...) (20 years ago, 20-Dec-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Shade, Mech for the SnowLeopard Clan Ninjas —Avery Christy
(...) I am trying to figure out the eyes thing. I like it, kind of mysterious and ninja-ish. Oh wait, I figured it out. Nice. Nice Mech, especially for your first stab at it this. (First stab, right?) You got to post the standing on one foot thing; (...) (20 years ago, 20-Dec-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Shade, Mech for the SnowLeopard Clan Ninjas —Mark Neumann
(...) Well, kind of. I've always been trying to push myself smaller and tighter. This is a new benchmark. It's small and looks good. A lot of my prior smaller stuff looks dumb. (...) (URL) You got it.> (...) There's no color scheme to match the (...) (20 years ago, 20-Dec-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Shade, Mech for the SnowLeopard Clan Ninjas —Christopher Snead
(...) Hey, this is pretty interesting...I think this is one of the smallest models I've seen with the reverse chicken leg design - one of your trademarks. I like your use of colors. I was noticing that light blue, sand blue, bley and dark grey make (...) (20 years ago, 20-Dec-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Shade, Mech for the SnowLeopard Clan Ninjas —Mark Neumann
(...) Thanks Chris. Yeah I got the blues and both grays and blays. (so if you count blay as blue just blues and grays....) Actually this is where the name comes into play. Shades of blue. Shade. I really wanted to hit off the model using the not so (...) (20 years ago, 20-Dec-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Shade, Mech for the SnowLeopard Clan Ninjas —Kyle Vrieze
(...) snip I absolutely love the calves and feet. You've got to have clearance for the ankle to pivot side-to-side, but you were able to recess the pivot axis low enough so that the front-back click hinge joint isn't sticking way up. In fact, you (...) (20 years ago, 20-Dec-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Shade, Mech for the SnowLeopard Clan Ninjas —Mark Neumann
(...) Yeah you guessed it. Add stuff there and you loose mobility. I think I got an idea though. If I use the minifig back stud adapters, that shouldn't interfere with mobility but may allow me to add some detail. Hmmmm, thanks! I avoided slopes (...)         Re: Shade, Mech for the SnowLeopard Clan Ninjas —Paul Baulch
(...) I don't know, I've never been good at mecha. I like the poseability a lot, and the eyes are really clever. Do they actually stay in by themselves? I'd like to see Shade with some accessories, they usually make mecha more exciting to look at (...) (20 years ago, 20-Dec-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Shade, Mech for the SnowLeopard Clan Ninjas —Mark Neumann

Re: Shade, Mech for the SnowLeopard Clan Ninjas —Fradel D. Gonzales
Wowsers. It reminds me of a Battlemech from the ol' League days. I think it was called the Weasel. F (20 years ago, 22-Dec-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Shade, Mech for the SnowLeopard Clan Ninjas —Keith Goldman
(...) But can it stand on one foot, rub its belly and chew bubblegum simultaneously? (...) So what you are saying is that the Shade is kind of like a Romanian gymnast / mecha spanking machine? (...) I did enjoy it. Outstanding work Mark, I think its (...) (20 years ago, 22-Dec-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Shade, Mech for the SnowLeopard Clan Ninjas —Mark Neumann
(...) I'll do it all. Never said I would be really good at it, but I'll at least try. Shade is the one that turned out ok. (...) Yep, gold coins in lever bases.         Re: Shade, Mech for the SnowLeopard Clan Ninjas —Marcus Clancy
(...) Great Mech! I like how posable it is. I am not much for weapons but the gun is a good detail for this mech. It can stand on one foot?....I would like to see. Awesome. Marc (20 years ago, 24-Dec-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)
