First, what I call a “high value target” mech, with only eight extra-large missiles and a pair of gauss rifles, it’s role is to blitz-attack a single important target, like a dropship, using jump jets, high-powered, limited ammunition, long range weapons, and then flee. I imagine pilots calling it the “widowmaker”.

I got the idea for the “sideways can” missle launchers from a comic book called “Mech Destroyer”, published by Image in 2001.

GLEEE!!!! This looks Great!! It appeears to be a cross between the direwolf/warhawk legs and a warhammer torso, with catapultmissle racks!! I love it! The Gauss rifles are very simple, but looks VERY nice. This is probably my favorite model of yours that you have built so far!

Next, a version in blue inspired by the Masakari from Mechwarrior 4: Mercs.

It’s main weapons are the four PPCs in the arms, complemented by a pair of small missle banks. The Mechwarrior PC games are a big inspiration for me. I classify my mechs into light/medium/heavy/assault based on their scale heights relative to the mech stats from the game (although Frank Kopanitsanos’ Masakari is waaaaay bigger than my assault mechs).

Aw Shucks! Well, this one looks to have the same general leg structure as the last, which i really like!It looks big and strong, which is to be expected for an assault mech. The stubbiness of the torso looks pretty cool (Like a direwolf/daishi) and it matches the legs very well.

Lastly, not a mech but an anti-mech aircraft. If mechs are the tanks of the 31st century, then this thing is the Apache helicopter:

This was inspired by Masamune’s description, at the end of the “Dominion” trade paperback, of the violence done to tanks by anti-tank missiles and the A-10 Warthog’s cannon. Like many on this board, I love Shirow’s work, although I don’t know that I’ve ever built anything that really looks like he would have designed it. Next on my build list is a larger anti-mech aircraft with a cannon that looks more “A-10 Warthog” in scale.
mmm, that thing looks like it could tear some mecha apart! It remindsme of the orca VTOL from the command and conquer series. That cannon looks massive, and it has plenty of missiles to rain destruction with, definately a plus for an anti-mech vehicle.

All in all, very nice work! You have actually inspired me to try putting a new Moc together. I can’t wait to see your next models!!

(...) Glad you enjoyed it! I love the chunkiness in the legs and torso of the Masakari and Daishi. They're among my favorites from Mechwarrior, along with the Shadowcat and Loki. (...) Inspired by Soren's admonition, I'll try to do a more complete job on this post. I've got a couple of new mechs with "chicken leg" chassis based on the technic click ball joints from the Super Battle Droid set (they're cheap on Ebay these days). The (...)
