A bit of follow-up on this:

Initially when I started adding postings to the sidebar, I was faced with a
dilemma-do I update everytime a post is made or do I hold off and update a few
at a time. I started out with the former method. Within a few weeks I realized
this wasn't working at all because it turned me into a slave to the sidebar. I
would just finish the update and within an hour, something new was posted. When
I made a couple of mistakes, it became a record keeping nightmare. I switched to
the latter method and it worked well as long as I performed the update Sunday
night. Any earlier and the same problems arose.

.build.mecha had the most sidebar changes of any page on Lugnet and it will have
them again. Let me work with Eric on this and (fingers crossed) no more
complaints will arise. Please remember that this is a volunteer position and is
subject to our availability to update.

I try to update the sidebar on Sunday nights after I see weekend mecha postings. Obviously, that hasn't happened in the past month, so I started updating using the last update as a starting point and I move forward from there. Generally, I leave the (...) (20 years ago, 12-Apr-04, to lugnet.build.mecha)
