Sorry, but I feel I must tell you what I honesty hink here. Although I still find your mechs very impressive by their size and their complexity, I am not at all impressed by this one. I fail to see the difference between this one and the previous ones. As I said, *I* fail to see... Maybe it’s just me. But I feel you master this construction scheme and maybe you should put your talent to a different contribution, like maybe something else that a huge standing robotic mech. Don’t get me wrong, I know you can! This is not a dare or it’s not meant to insult you, au contraire! I am eager to see what you will come up with when you’ll try something different.

Terry you picked up on a good point, let me explain.

For many years I have worked to build and construct a collection of large Mecha creations. Recently, three of my large Mecha have fallen to the way side, either from neglect or from just being very old.

So I took apart 3 of my Mecha models (I clasify the 3 foot tall ones as “Mecha”) , leaving me with only one 3 foot tall model; The Gomgile.

I needed to create another 3 foot Mecha model to build up my collection again.

Rizmit while esthetically, it is reminisent of older designs, the frame is a synergy of many techniques brought together either for the first time or in new ways.

So yes, this new Mecha is a way for me to show my style. It fills in the gaps left by the older departed Mechs.

I would caution you Terry. Many secrets of Mecha design are not so apparent to the untrained eye. You need a little trainning in that department. But still you are perceptive and you noticed that while “new” its certainly has an old feel to it.

I was under an obligation to myself yo re-use some of the elements found in old beloved Red Robot.

I’ve seen your Manthis. Now that is impressive to me. Maybe other people would like to see you do something else as well? But I have no right to tell you I want you to try something else. If this is what you get a kick out of building, then ignore my post. I’m still very interested in your mechs since they are a great source of inspiration when I build mechs myself (although they are far from being nearly as good as yours).

I had to build another Mecha model to fill in the gaps left by the other models, however I will make new creations in time that depart from the norm.

Trust me.

Thank you for your honest evaluation.

e

   Terry
