Re: Invictus Horriblus- 'The Unconquerable Horror'

Woohoo! Go Dave! I was wondering where Invictus went. I really loved hearing the build story though. This mecha/beast is sweet. I love the huge body and then the small t-rex arms coming out the side. It makes it look much more beastish than if it (...) (21 years ago, 25-May-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New Female Mecha MOC: Raresa-Meitsu

Wow, Stuart you are so good at using very small pieces in small numbers and making them look so good. What gets me about this one are all of the perfectly placed pieces all over the place that are small, but all add to give it perfect shape. (...) (21 years ago, 25-May-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Invictus Horriblus- 'The Unconquerable Horror'

(...) If at first you don't succeed... maybe you should start all over. In my humble opinion, this thing is ugly. I really don't like it at all. The color scheme doesn't work for me, the upper-legs are way to short and thin and they lack details. (...) (21 years ago, 25-May-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New Female Mecha MOC: Raresa-Meitsu

Since I didn't hear it from our friend Eric...DANG! That's sweet! Seriously, I love the way your female mecha are lithe, tender, slender-almost fragile looking. It's a tough thing to pull off and not actually have them be fragile. Kudos to you for (...) (21 years ago, 25-May-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: critique?

Brian, This is a fantastic variation on Gla Gla's armature! You've enhanced his basic design and made it about as sleek and lovely as humanly possible. Using red as your main color really worked for this model. Great job! -Dave (21 years ago, 25-May-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

I'll subtitle this: 'If at first you don't succeed...' Post mod pics: (URL) is a Long term project that lasted close to two two years partly due to structural flaws and partly due to a lack of parts in the needed colors. Brown (Bone/feather), Dark (...)   *NEW* LEGO brick-ish Transformers by Hasbro -- What's the deal?

Hello all, Well I was just doing a quick read of online news. I had not been to www.allspark.com, a Transformers fan site, recently so I brought up the page. After scrolling down I stumbled across this header: Wave 5 Product Catalog Scans - May 22 (...) (...) The "Princess Leia buns" are jets, and the long pieces that come off are drycell power packs. it looks cool, nevertheless. (...) No, very young (for a robot)-- good eye! also, does raresa-meitsu mean anything in english (...) It's not a name I (...) (21 years ago, 24-May-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Reminds me quite a bit of the Mechwarrior: Dark Age Forestry mech Mod ( (URL) ) But i really doubt that a mecha builder would use American mechwarrior as a basis ;) also, here is primus bus' take on it (URL) all that aside I REALLY love that (...) excellent mecha, immonen-san! great female form as always (the mecha, i mean). the colors work perfectly. just curious: that blue thing attached to her head...is it like hair, or a jet pack. it looks cool, nevertheless. i also really dig the head- (...) Absolutely beautiful. WAI! Take care, Soren (21 years ago, 23-May-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: critique?

I really like this one. I'm impressed by your ability to achieve so much with so little (I tend towards the other end of the spectrum), and your excellent sense of form. The torso in particular is very refined. Take care, Soren (21 years ago, 23-May-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: critique?

ooh! i'm glad this was finally posted on lugnet. is this your first mecha? if so, i am floored! i love this mecha. it looks very lightweight and highly posable. red is always a great color for mecha. i really like the size of the shoulders and the (...)   Re: critique?

thanks ya'll for the input and kind words! props to you all for being an inspiration to me. posability is actually pretty good due largely in part to the minimal use of elements. this lends to a less heavier model overall and allows the joints more (...)
