  Re: Gla Gla's Patlabor

(...) The radar dish isn't chrome - it's gold. One of C3P0's eyes from the technic set. (...) The model doesn't look terribly big. At that scale, ball joints should be okay for standing. It looks like he used the Throwbot ball joints, which are of a (...) (23 years ago, 17-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Gla Gla's Patlabor

(...) That's putting it mildly! This is a stunning piece of work! Just drop dead, fall-on-the-floor admirable! It would be one thing to make it, but then at this scale, and with such detail, and such accuracy, and such poseability! OMG! I can't (...) (23 years ago, 17-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Gla Gla's Patlabor

OOOOH!!! That gets my mecha juices flowing!! I love the head and the legs. I want to know where he(?) got that chrome radar dish. Is that model all ball joints? I wonder how it can pose with just ball joints...I've tried them and they are too weak (...) (23 years ago, 17-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: LYB

LYB, SBB, LBB, BYOB, OPP, POP, DUI, MIP, VIP.....ya sorry I'm done now!!! Eric that is cool how you can make those color coded bots, but what about the color blind? Just kidding. I like the old smiley face bricks on the side, looks like graffiti!! (...) (23 years ago, 17-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Gla Gla's Patlabor

(...) Yes, it's an excellent model. I love how he has created the suggestion of shapes where bricks won't allow enough actual detail. The revolver is obviously just a couple parts, but your mind wants to fill in the details. It's very well done. (...) (23 years ago, 17-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: LYB

(...) Yeah, you know if you build in the waist kick out, you need one at the ankle, too... takes a lot of worm gears.... I'll build these (...) you ain't the only one, brother! I love to see 'em! (...) Well, hey, that actually seems reasonable-- I (...) (23 years ago, 17-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Gla Gla's Patlabor

Mecha Sucker Punch #2!!! Wow wow wow! In particular the knees, the side of the legs, the ball and axles joints, oh heck the entire Leg structure, the pilot area, the double hinged cockpit open action, the pilot head sticking out, the nice shoulders, (...)   Re: LYB

Yes, finished! And the reason I was able to complete the little bot is because my local Lego pal Brian Sadowski generously kicked in the remaining needed parts from his stock of Yellow. Thanks Brian!!!! How much? Well considering that the LSB (...) (23 years ago, 16-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: LYB

This is so strange for me to build multiples of a mech. But here they are. Something about the poseability that gets me. Even if it's missing a couple of ranges of movement. (Leg side kick-out, waist rotate) I'll build these into the next generation (...) (23 years ago, 16-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: LYB

(...) ====BAAAAHHHHHAAAAA WAAAA HAAA HAAA!!! No I kick in a liner so it doesn't get all over the sides. ====Khhmmppfff. They only require the ocasional exterior cleaning. Designed to help sort and play for as long as my Ubber-computer could (...) (23 years ago, 16-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: LYB

Thanks! Considering that the only other Yellow robot I made was the one in this picture and that was over 10 years ago! (URL) deal G-Meist, I didn't send the LSB to your house so you can buy one for $599, ok? Legomaster (...) (23 years ago, 16-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Gla Gla's Patlabor

(...) Awesome! I've never heard of Patlabor, though. It is some sort of Gundam Wing, Transformer type anime show?! Either way, though, my applause to whoever built this. Just my two brickz... <<_Matt Hein_>> Lugnet member No. 112 (23 years ago, 16-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Gla Gla's Patlabor

(...) That is just brilliant? I love the way the pilot sticks his head out just like on the real thing. Steve (23 years ago, 16-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Gla Gla's Patlabor

For all of y'all that aren't constantly monitoring Brickshelf: (URL) guy is a genius! Check out the gun holster in the leg - just like the model! Chris (23 years ago, 16-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: LYB

Eric, I really dig the yellow on this design! It really brings out the shapes and forms you have, so cool! I want one! but then the money thing does become a issue... :-( -Geordan- (...) (23 years ago, 16-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Speaking of gundam inspiration...

(...) I've been referring some of my e-mailers to your site too, since you build more reasonably sized mecha and will have plans available for them. My minifig scale gundams just aren't practical for most people to build, even if I made LDRAW plans. (...) (23 years ago, 16-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Inspiration...?

(...) Well speaking of mecha designs in particular, without a doubt the VF-1X series of variable mecha from Macross/Robotech completely facinated me as a child. Actually getting one of these in a toy version in 1985 was even more of an experience (...) (23 years ago, 16-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Speaking of gundam inspiration...

(...) Welcome to the flooded email club! All those sites send some serious traffic. I think I've been sending you quite a few as well. Hello Bryce- I just was looking around at your brickshelf account, when suddenly it hit me. Your Quetzcoatl (I think that's the name) looks more than a bit like a Balrog from LOTR. Just a thought... Ryan (23 years ago, 16-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)
