Re: Brand-new mechs from yours truly!!!

Thanks Eric! Perhaps the reason you see many different techniques from different builders in my MOCs is because I SHAMELESSLY RIPPED THEM OFF BECAUSE I HAVE NO GOOD IDEAS OF MY OWN!!!!!!! (not really). Seriously though, I'm glad you like my models, (...) (23 years ago, 6-Feb-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Brand-new mechs from yours truly!!!

(...) You're welcome, Stuart! (...) Wow, I really don't know. Thanks for all the compliments! (...) Well, it certainly isn't obvious from the pics, but I made the wings swing back instead of into the mech on purpose to counterbalance the heavy (...) (23 years ago, 6-Feb-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: The Qwilljox

Thanks Stuart! It's scale is just a notch up from LBB. When I first made the legs I turned the gears until the bot crouched down and looked like it was sitting. I grabed the camera to catch it in that pose before it fell over! The head was the (...) (23 years ago, 5-Feb-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: The Qwilljox

Yes! YES! YES! I love it! Excellent! Now where did I put those Skeleton figs! I gotta go out behind my house or up to the Trails on the mountain and get a shot of Qwilljox from behind clawing at the lower part of a cliff face. Cool, very cool. (...) (23 years ago, 5-Feb-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: The Qwilljox

Thanks cousin Mladen! I was hopeing to add somthing to the shoulder area to help "hide" or "tuck" the head more closer to the body. I know it seems a little big. The arms help to at least detract from is big pea pod looking head. Ya, retractable (...) (23 years ago, 5-Feb-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: The Qwilljox

Thanks Mark! I can see the Mech now: "Mammmy, Mammmy, oh Mammmy......." Dude(s) the Qwilljox does have teeth! look!: (URL) so it only has two little nubs. But look it has two of those 1x1 w/clip holder in it's jaws. I kept the front of the mouth (...) (23 years ago, 5-Feb-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: The Qwilljox

John I'm crushed! You don't know my moves! Check out my Piloted Mechs: Mech: (10 URLs) just about all of these Early Mecha Have Pilots: (URL) Praying Mantis has half a dozen pilots, alas I never photographed them. :( Either way I'm glad you like the (...)   Re: The Qwilljox

Ya, now that you say it that this is what GG would look like when it hatches is such a cool thought. According to my beloved writer; GG being only a few thousand years old, it would certainly have time to change, molt and grow into the beast known (...)   Re: The Qwilljox

Chris Thanks! It does have two small teeth. (URL) kept the front of the mouth free of teeth because it interfeered with the mouth closing all the way. But maybe I should forego the mouth closing shut and add a couple more to the front of the jaw. (...) (23 years ago, 5-Feb-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: The Swarm Warriors.

(...) I'm sure that can be arranged... :) (...) Thanks! I like that head alot... A big version of it should be stuck onto the Queen. The arms, I think, really make it. Sadly, I don't have the money to buy the poor guy a new pair of shoes. J/K. (...) (23 years ago, 5-Feb-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Brand-new mechs from yours truly!!!

(...) Wow the gray one is cool (it looks a lot like a Zaku) the backback is pretty cool and I like the look of the torso where the pilot sits. wow those hoses make the head look alot wider than it actually is. I had thought it was much bigger untill (...) (23 years ago, 5-Feb-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: The Swarm Warriors.

(...) the back and head are real nice. I like the fore arms. The feet seem alittle small in the side pics (you don't really notice in the other pics.) I can't wait to see an army of these swarming over something. John (23 years ago, 5-Feb-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Nosrai light mecha

(...) shoulders were a little chunkier but that is just my mecha style coming through. (example 2 1x2 inverse slopes and 2 2x2 double inverse slopes with that 2x2 plate on top) But this thing is really cool. I'd love to see it built out of bricks. (...)   Sources of plates?

I'm still stuck on plating on any mecha designs that I do, although I nearly have enough pieces for the skeletal structure of my mecha. This lack of plates disturbs me enough that I continuously tear down everything that I build. What's a good (...) (23 years ago, 5-Feb-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: The Swarm Warriors.

(...) Thanks! Took me a while to get a satisfactory one. At first I was going to use the one that the OMAUs have. (They're in the Exosuits section, if you want to see. It wouldn't have worked well.) Feel free to take any ideas you like. -- Mark (...) (23 years ago, 5-Feb-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: The Swarm Warriors.

(...) I kinda got the idea for that from the Buggers in Ender's Game, and I've had it bouncing around in my mind for quite a while. Queens and workers will come next. If you kill the queens, all the workers and warriors spawned by them will sort of (...) (23 years ago, 5-Feb-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: The Swarm Warriors.

(...) Wonderful! It should look mean -- because it is. Alright, you just gave me a scene idea. (...) I was actualy planning on releasing one with two LRM-2 missle packs on its shoulders instead of the two spike-pads. (...) Again, thank you. :) -- (...)   Re: The Swarm Warriors.

(...) That, too, is good for me! (...) *Big grin* Thanks! That's kinda what I was going for -- something smooth, but with a sudden spike in differant places. I didn't want to make them to big, and I thought that the size I got was just right. (...) (...) (23 years ago, 5-Feb-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Nosrai light mecha

(...) Ah, a highly underused technique, IMO. But then, lots of builders aren't that concerned with extreme articulation-- it's also hard to manage, IRL. But, I see it all the time in Hobby Japan, so I often think about implementing it in Lego-- (...) (23 years ago, 5-Feb-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)
