  Re: The Swarm Warriors.

(...) Thanks! Took me a while to get a satisfactory one. At first I was going to use the one that the OMAUs have. (They're in the Exosuits section, if you want to see. It wouldn't have worked well.) Feel free to take any ideas you like. -- Mark (...) (23 years ago, 5-Feb-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: The Swarm Warriors.

(...) I kinda got the idea for that from the Buggers in Ender's Game, and I've had it bouncing around in my mind for quite a while. Queens and workers will come next. If you kill the queens, all the workers and warriors spawned by them will sort of (...) (23 years ago, 5-Feb-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: The Swarm Warriors.

(...) Wonderful! It should look mean -- because it is. Alright, you just gave me a scene idea. (...) I was actualy planning on releasing one with two LRM-2 missle packs on its shoulders instead of the two spike-pads. (...) Again, thank you. :) -- (...)   Re: The Swarm Warriors.

(...) That, too, is good for me! (...) *Big grin* Thanks! That's kinda what I was going for -- something smooth, but with a sudden spike in differant places. I didn't want to make them to big, and I thought that the size I got was just right. (...) (...) (23 years ago, 5-Feb-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Nosrai light mecha

(...) Ah, a highly underused technique, IMO. But then, lots of builders aren't that concerned with extreme articulation-- it's also hard to manage, IRL. But, I see it all the time in Hobby Japan, so I often think about implementing it in Lego-- (...) (23 years ago, 5-Feb-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Brand-new mechs from yours truly!!!

(...) Indeed! Thanks for posting, thanks for joining in the discussion! I have already (...) Veeery nice! I like the big grey one (what was the name?) very much-- great poseability, WONDERFUL head, great back, greta legs, GREAT! Good overall sweep (...) (23 years ago, 5-Feb-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: The Swarm Warriors.

(...) Sorry. Can't help you. Don't have anything bad to say. Like the rest, I like the head and the slope plating-- just makes for a nice, smooth look. And I love the size! Just right for making a bunch, and having them fight everywhere! My one and (...) (23 years ago, 5-Feb-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: The Swarm Warriors.

(...) Actually, in my area there's a discount clothing store called Winners, which has a toy section, and right now they've got loads of Arctic Base sets (set #?) for $49 CDN. You can find a bunch those joints there. WAL-MART also has discounted (...) (23 years ago, 5-Feb-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: The Qwilljox

(...) think it's about time you give your mecha some teeth! Yeah, yeah, I can hear you now: "What do they need teeth for, the only thing they eat is motor oil! That and enemy mecha." :-) And K, cool backstory. I can picture the Qwilljox feverently (...) (23 years ago, 5-Feb-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) the insect-looking armor plating. That's nifty. -Chris (23 years ago, 5-Feb-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Nosrai light mecha

(...) designs are ingenious. ;-) -Chris (23 years ago, 5-Feb-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Nosrai light mecha

(...) the katana is cool. Minifig legs for hands may be played out, but they're great for holding stuff well. I think if they weren't so overused, they could still be used to advantage on just the right mecha, IMO. Later, Chris (23 years ago, 5-Feb-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: The Swarm Warriors.

(...) Cool! I like the idea of having large quantities of small mecha that behave in almost a hive-like behavior. I tried mass producing an Insectoid mecha, but those darn hinges w/ the technic pins you have used are notoriously hard to come by. I (...) (23 years ago, 5-Feb-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: The Qwilljox

(...) Hey, Eric! Still churning them out, eh? ;-) I like this mecha on several different levels. It has a slim, lanky feeling to it; I can imagine that this is what GG looks like right after hatching. As it grows, its Lego hide turns Grey, and its (...)   Re: Nosrai light mecha

Thanks Eric. The helmet was the first or second thing built. The modified engine might have been first. I just made a new set of hands. I'll have new images up in a day or so. The other mech in the comparison shot is the Tyr. Comparison shots use (...) (23 years ago, 4-Feb-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: What's up?!?

Both. I'm going to build as much as I can to make sure the design works. Then I'll put in CAD to make aesthetic refinements, i.e. part replacement, details, and color. (...) (23 years ago, 4-Feb-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: The Swarm Warriors.

(...) Also a basic enough design that I could see you creating some cool variants for specialized missions. Cool. Grand Admiral Muffin Head -- Mark's LEGO Creations (URL) (23 years ago, 5-Feb-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: The Swarm Warriors.

(...) Thanks! Aye, I especialy love those angle slopes that make it look spikey. Well, it really depends on your level of skill with the cad. I worked alot of last night and this morning and completed it this afternoon. (With school breaks, of (...) (23 years ago, 5-Feb-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Nosrai light mecha

Travis, I checked out the Nosrai, what I like best is the way the head covers the minifig when it closes. The feet are interesting too. Hey this is tough for me to say cause I make a point of always trying to be nice, but ugg! the hands! not the (...) (23 years ago, 5-Feb-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: The Swarm Warriors.

Oh neat! the head is very cool, I like all the angle slopes! Does it take long to make that in the computer? I don't know how to do that CAD stuff. Those parts you used for the feet are cool, some of my fav parts. Good luck! Legomaster (...) (23 years ago, 5-Feb-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)
