Hello Group, I've mentioned this one a few times, though now that it's done, I'm just not sure... somehow it's just not yet right. They always look different IRL. ANyway, hopefully someone has some suggestions as to how I might proceed. Consider (...) (23 years ago, 27-Oct-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Mystery Mech spotted - OT

Who's talking mechs? You should -see- the size of our grasshoppers and locusts 'down under'. I'm thinking a 70t grasshopper may be a bit restrained actually. They crush cars, eat children, and certainly give the drop-bears a run for their money.... (...) (23 years ago, 26-Oct-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Super Saturday Project

Well, tomorrow is Super Saturday and I spent the other day taking pictures and making some instructions for the kids to use. I posted them on Brickshelf here: (URL) check them out and give me some feedback. I put them up Wed. but we had a tornado go (...) (...) <snipped> (...) <snipped> Nerd hat indeed.... I was comparing a real life grasshopper to a real life locust -- in which case grasshoppers are 'basically' a smaller version of the critters. :) I wasn't drawing a Mech-to-Mech comparison and (...)   Re: K'Nex Battlemechs

(...) I was right - I missed the thread. :) They're fairly good, yes, but eh... "it's not LEGO." Thanks for the link. Joel J (23 years ago, 26-Oct-01, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: Mystery Mech spotted

(...) Naw, no interior, but I did think of it except that all the internals are what is holding the arms together. Also, I was keeping the wieght down so that the ball joints held up. (...) (...) Hey there, Joel! We've discussed this one once before: (URL) bad it's K'Nex....I'd definitely be interested if it wasn't. -Dave (23 years ago, 25-Oct-01, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  K'Nex Battlemechs

I don't recall seeing a post about this, but I was at TRU last night and saw that K'Nex has licensed for Mech Warrior. They had sets of the Mad Cat, Shadow Cat and Cauldron Borne at the store I was at. And they shoot nerf-like missles. :) Found it (...)   Re: Mystery Mech spotted

(...) Mark -- that's a great design -- does it have an interior? Looks a smidge small for one, but I never write it off w/o asking. :) It looks very - Locust-like ala Battletech. I'd suggest Grasshopper but they're just small locust. ;) It's a sweet (...) (23 years ago, 25-Oct-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) Mark, this is a great design! I'll have to get back to you on the name though...the immediate name that popped into my head was the 'Mantid'. I think that's due to the color, but at 4am, it's hard to be certain. :) Have a good one and keep on (...) (23 years ago, 25-Oct-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Mystery Mech spotted

There's been an unidentified mech spotted. Take a look and see for yourself; (URL) there's more. You see I haven't come up with a good name yet and so I thought it might be fun to see what LUGNETters come up with. So e-mail me (...) (23 years ago, 25-Oct-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: New Mecha: The Phantom

Nice mecha. You seem to be improving and growing with each new mecha you make. Unlike Mark I like the feet. I dunno maybe it's the weird sort of organic feel to them? As with everyone else I think the head rocks! Keep them coming. Other thoughts. In (...) (23 years ago, 22-Oct-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: site update - 10/22/2001

  Re: Adding My Site's Link

(...) Here's the deal: I have rcv'd requests from AFOLs, but can't give them top priority today. I'm facing tasks in line ahead of LUGNET.
