  Re: New Mecha: The Shikari

(...) of.. well, I never watched the gundam show, or played a mechwarrior game but, maybe I should study more. :-) Joel (23 years ago, 22-Aug-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

  Re: New Mecha: The Shikari

Great model Joel! I love the feet! Suggestions: Anime mecha don't usually have transparent windscreens. Also, they usually have small heads (althought my Tortoise sorta proved that wrong). If you want your mecha to have a no-head design, jack-up the (...) (23 years ago, 22-Aug-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

Re: Object lesson in bad photography

(...) It looks like a valiant Viking warrior! Amazing, I love how you can capture the "Gundam" look Brian! (...) Lindsay has the right idea. My brother even suggested halogen worklights to me. Definitely a good idea. (...) Wow! I can't believe that (...) (23 years ago, 22-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Object lesson in bad photography

(...) Wow. That's a very nice gundam! It's meaty--and I love the shield. :) But you *can* photograph it--the big problem is the source of light. Flashes are never kind with black--it shows off the studs too well. I'd suggest popping the $10 to get (...) (23 years ago, 22-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Object lesson in bad photography

(URL) gundam has been gathering dust as I try to figure out how to photograph it and update my website. It may be impossible. Notice how the black detail is completely lost and the red hue isn't consistent across the image (perhaps because of the (...) (23 years ago, 22-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) Well, yeah... what else would he say? ;^) (...) Thanks. :^) (...) Thanks. That's kind of the look I was going for. (...) Ummm, errr. Ok, I stuck them on there because I thought they were kind of neat. I dunno, I've seen a few "air" mecha that (...) (23 years ago, 21-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

Re: New Mecha - "Tortoise" Next-Generation Land Mecha

(...) Good! (...) LOL! (...) Thanks Brian! I was trying to figure out how to build a slim mini-gun for several months, and then one day I wake up and do it! (...)   Re: Mark's Lego Creations Update 08/17/01

(...) "One express elevator to he--, going down! Wooo...ooo!!!!!!" when he's released from the carrier? A fun concept. I love the design of the mech head (nice jackhammers there). In general the mech looks very parts efficient, nothing more than it (...) (23 years ago, 21-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

Re: New Mecha - "Tortoise" Next-Generation Land Mecha

(...) Yes, very enjoyable. Where joy is derived from excessive weaponry and destructive capability that brings a smile to a minifig pilots face. The machine gun is very neat. The body has cool details - you seem to have a limitless capacity for (...) (23 years ago, 21-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Announcing: The Mecha Factory

(...) It took me a while but I think I've been able to build a reasonable gundam head at minifig scale. Just needed to use a combination of odd and even widths, horizontal and vertical stacking... the usual tricks of the trade. (...) It depends on (...)   Re: Announcing: The Mecha Factory

Thanks Joel, I've thought about doing some more diaramas, but I would have to tear down the one I have now and I'm not sure I want to do that. Another problem is I'd have to use some small model kit figures if I want to add people to the scenes, (...) (23 years ago, 21-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: LEGO in Washington Post

(...) Don't feel bad, Mark. I do it too. It's the one Lego piece that shouldn't exist, but I believe it gave birth to the part we both love-the Bionicle ball with axlehole. I know you had used this part, that's why I didn't mention it in the first (...) (23 years ago, 20-Aug-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle, lugnet.build.mecha)
