  My First Space Mech

Hello everyone, it's been a while since I posted anything, so I decided I'd share my first Space World creation with you all. It's Vincent Gage's Mech (name subject to change :). You castle-heads will know who Vincent is, but for everyone else, he's (...) (24 years ago, 15-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.castle, lugnet.space)

(...) ...Seawater may be transparent to it, but seems to me all the stuffe floating in the water from plankton to detritus would cause a problem. the dispersion from all the detritus would prolly use up a great deal of the energy put into the laser (...)   Re: Female mecha

(...) Well, maybe... Maybe I'm biased because I think of the Queadlunn-Rau I associate it with the female pilots, but when you see it move, it is definitely female, IMHO. And when compared to the male Zentraedi mecha, it seems to me to be very (...) (24 years ago, 15-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Female mecha

(...) Yeah, that's it. I totally blanked. I loved that game at one point, even had the (greatly inferior) home version for the Sega. eric (24 years ago, 15-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Virtual On I get my butt kicked by 12 year olds at the arcade regularly. :^D ~Mark (24 years ago, 15-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Female mecha

I think Mark is referring to mecha that is anthropomorphically female, not mecha that is piloted by a female. The Queadlunn-Rau armor, while designated as female armor, doesn't look female or make you think of the female form. But I'm a Macross (...) (24 years ago, 15-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Bridget

(...) Because we can't get the laser technology to work properly yet, but the Navy is currently funding major research & development programs to figure out how to do just that. It's no more blue-sky than supercavitating machine-gun bullets. --Karim (24 years ago, 15-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

  Re: Bridget

(...) Nope. It is somewhat translucent to it, to a range of somewhat less than 500 ft. Otherwise, why do you think that we still work with SONAR for detection of subs? James (24 years ago, 15-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

  Re: Bridget

(...) Seawater is moreor-less transparent to a properly tuned blue/green lasers, so there would be little/no attenuation. No moving parts to corrode in the saltwater, and no ejection ports to get gummed up by oceanic detritus. --Karim (24 years ago, 15-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

(...) Master Grade Lego Models has a version of the Fei-Yen from, umm, dang. I'm blanking on the name of the game. Fighting game (err, video game) with giant robots. Anyway, she's a girl mecha. Go to: (URL) click on the link to 00217. eric (24 years ago, 15-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Female mecha

(...) My all-time favorite female mecha is the Zentraedi Queadlunn-Rau power armor from Macross/Robotech: (URL) you've ever seen this in action, you'd think so too ;) (note that the mecha is only about twice as tall as the fmale pilot... its a tight (...)   Female mecha

My wife the other day was talking about building a female mecha, so I thought I would do some research to see if anyone else has done something similar.
